Villain is not tight, but no maniac either. I've seen him call all-in with AQo and I thought I might be ahead even if called. I'm not sure what to make of his bet sizing.

Looks pretty standard to me. Even though he's 5x'd it you have enough (17 bb's) to leverage fold equity, and your hand equity will be fine with AK all in pre vs. his range, particularly if he's prone to caling off with at least AQo. I wouldn't even hesitate to 3b shove this spot for value.
