Thought I'd do a check on how many players in the top 1500, that are NOT eligible for the Premier League because of there status. And was surprised to find there are 530 so as it stands if you finish in the top 2030 you would make the cut. The currant leader has 2188.33 points and the player in 1500 place has 1630.64. I'll check it every 6 days and post my findings here, unless PSO can come up with a Premier league board. good luck every one.

is it not how many vpp's you make this month which makes you eligible for next months premier league??

No it is your finishing position in the Open League that will determine whether you qualify or not. VPPS will decide which prize structure you play for in the Premier League.

yes i understand that part, sorry for not making it clearer.

how can de hitman know that 530 peeps won't be eligible for premier league because of their status when it shows the vpp status from last month?

ie. this month i am <20 vpp's and looks as though wouldn't be advancing to premier league however i have already surpassed 150 vpp's for next month.

thx

I think you can qualify Bluff:

Quote:
After July's league has completed, in addition to any prize payments earned, we will also award the top 1,500 members, who will also be at least 20+ level based on their July VPP earnings*, with an 'August 2011 Premier Skill League Ticket'.

So as long as you earn 20 VPP and finish in the top 1500 of school members yu should be ok.

Hi Yahooza, (nice job on the VPPS)

See that youre a Derrybeg man, you should qualify as well if I read it correctly.

I don't know how hitman did it: I am assuming it was all manual unless he is some type of computer whizz.

The top 1500 will be invited into the prem regardless of how many/little vpp's they have
VPP's just determine which payout grade you are elligible for

Taken from http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/art...June-27th-2011

The Premier Skill League
The PokerSchool Premier Skill League will be introduced in August 2011 for the top 1,500 members* from July's league leaderboard

In August if you have less than 20vpps or are in the bottom 500 you will be relegated back down to the Open League

nice one!!

thanks top.

wasn't that hard acquiring the 150+ playing at 25/50c NL 2-7 single draw, usually 1$ rake every hand.

have you been to derrybeg before?

I am originally from Tyrone and used to go to the Gaeltacht every year until I was 18.

Unfortunately my Irish language skills are about as good as my German and French. I do however hold the dubious privilege of being expelled from Rannafast for speaking English to a young lady behind a bush (the Irish language could not really convey what I was trying to say at that particular point!!). I am in good company however, as one Cardinal Tomas O Fiaich was also expelled for speaking English many years before me.

Now if I knew what 2-7 single draw was I might have a go at playing it. i will have to do a bit of reading. Were you winning money whilst earning the VPPS?

hahaha, there's some mad stories from those days alright, we used to sneak up to the houses where they stayed most nights and try and get them all to sneak out but 9 times out of 10 the man of the house would chase us away with a shovel or etc....infact one of my friends managed to get a whack in the leg with a hurley stick.

but anyways 2-7 is basically the exact opposite of 5 card draw, worst hand wins.

23457 being the best, followed by 23467, 23567, 24567, 23458 etc etc. straights are really bad, as are flushes, trips, houses, pairs and ace is high also being a bad card. sometimes a small pair will often win for you but you need to be getting either a free showdown or know they have a high bluff tendancy to call with let's say a pair of 2's/3's

was very much so a winning player when sober however when i am on a cocktail of things i tend to go way out of my BR guidelines and blow quite alot. i started playing this game on full tilt where they had 1/2c tables with a 1c ante but on here the lowest you will find is 25/50c with no ante.

if it were something you would consider to play to get your vpp's then go to play chips firstly because believe it or not i found that the players there were a lot better than the ones who were actually playing for $$$

good luck

Hi yahooza,

Thanks for the heads up on the 2-7. I may well give it a try.

I remember my days in Donegal with great fondness and still holiday there every two or three years along with the golf clubs. Brilliant scenery, brilliant people and great Guinness. I would recommend a visit to anyone.

Ok i did my calculations on players who have not earned 20 vvp's or more. these are easily found as they don't have a 20+ or 150+ next to there names on the leader board. there's 530 players who have not reached this mark in the top 1500 which would make it 2030 to qualify but as i never checked 1500-2030 im sure there are more in this category which have not reached 20 vvp's so the the cut off point would increase further maybe to 2250. hope this helps.

indeed TC, come visit us and bring some more fun to the place!! the summers are all about festivals also so usually every pub is packed and everyone in those pubs are packed too with drink.

our nightclubs kinda suck though, thats the only downside(too expensive at the door, shiddy music and rednecks talking about their twincams)

having said that i think i'm leaving this county on sunday to go to another great place, down to the galway arts festival. should be a good laugh. bell x1 are playing but i think i'll be arriving a day late for them oh well.

looks like another 'itm' in todays tourney is about to be reached. i've played 1 hand and outlasted 8500 others. pokerschoolonline skill league.... no skill required this month it seems. just get top 1500 and look forward to next month

good luck

however de hitman, as i posted earlier i have no symbol next to my name yet i am already 150+ for next month, there will be people who have 150+ showing for this month who will have 0vpp for next month so i believe it may be a flawed system you are using as you do not know how many vpp's people have earned for the current month which is the month that will be taken into account for next month.

You need 20 or more vvp's to qualify for the premier league PERIOD.

My understanding is if you have not got 20 or more vvps from last month you will not get into the premier league.
