Why did you shove on the flop when there is a flush draw?

You have 1 pair here, with no realisitic re-draw chance.

You jam a pretty decent sized stack (13BB), into a highly coordinated board (3 clubs), on a massive pot over bet...again, you have NO CLUB.

What do you EXPECT to call you here that is WORSE than your hand?

Do you think that someone who flopped a flush is folding?

Do you think that someone with top 2 pair, or a set, MIGHT realize that if YOU had more than a flush draw (a made flush) you probably are NOT jamming a large pot over bet here, and may CALL YOU on that basis?

So the bottom line is simple:

you actions value own" yourself, because only better hands are likely to call, and worse hands are likely to fold.

the fact that someone is so STUPID to call you with "just" a paired 8 and no club is pretty immaterial to the fact your move was not very good at all...unless you can say you KNEW this guy was enough of a moron to call that light.

at any rate, you can EXPECT to be facing at least a pretty strong chance of being drawn out on here when you get called.

when the guy who made an even more heinous "mistake" than you calls, after that it is down to luck.

sometimes luck happens.

in a 1 on 1 like this with this flop against me and top pair after he just called my raise before the flop????? then i shove to make the odds against him hoping he understands i have the ace and maybe the draw and see that he only has a small chance of winning, i think this dude is this 1 on 1 was looking at his chips and thought what the hell lets see.

I had to do something and a bet more then 1/3 woould automaticly let me shove it or am i so fishy wrong now???

although knowing your own table image is important in no limit hold me darling, in the lower- limit tournaments you will find that the other players at the table are of a poorer standard and wont even have a strategy, let alone know your table image. so dont base many of your poker decisions on what you think they think that you have.
