Something has to be wrong with the scoring model.

I place 96 out of 10,000 I get 81.92 points.
I place 12 out of 5665, I get 81.72 points.

It was a lot harder to get to 12/5665 than it was to get 96/10000.

12/5665 means surviving 99.79% of the field vs surviving 99.04%

While I'm on the subject of scoring, I think the rules should be changed so that the worst score you can receive when calling All In preflop with AA or KK should be 0. If you initiate the shove or if the flop has come down and you call all in it's on your head; but the only correct thing to do preflop with AA or KK in response to a shove is call. I understand the reasons why someone might want to fold AA on the bubble, but we're usually out of negative territory there.

This should explain everything for you:

Another factor that determines the points you earn is your starting score compared to the average field strength. Players that start a tournament with a higher score will gain less points than a player who started the same tournament with a lower score. Additionally the player with the higher starting score will lose more if they bust out early.
As to your second point, well I think it's a pretty far-fetched idea. What hand you lose with is irrelevant, just what place you finish in.
