Miss me?

I have a question. Did PokerStars drop sponsorships of their pros? They must've for online pros.

Anyway, this new league structure seems REALLY hard. Is it? How are there 10,000 people per game with 35% less players on PokerStars?

Your timing is a bit off, sir. This is the inaugural month of the new league. Best of all, it is the kind of setup you have always advocated, a tiered structure based on skill. Perhaps a quick primer since you left will help.

1 --- Black Friday - April 15, 2011
The US player is thrown out of all cash games, including the league when the DOJ charges the site with money laundrying.

2 --- New league announced - June
The new league is announced and the higher prize structures. About halfway through the month members learn there are now three prize structures. One is best known as the whitestar, which now defines anyone below 20 vpps. Then there is the lower tier, 20 vpps through 149.99 vpps who can earn money at a lower level. And the upper crust goes to those with 150 vpps or more each month.

3 --- Initiation - July
During this month, you want to be one of the top 1,500 players to go active. Those 1,500 players will move onto the Premier League. Of course there are birthing pains. When the US player participated, membership numbered 15K. After Black Friday, it dropped to 5K. With the Open League available to everyone, membership has surpassed the 70K mark and is still increasing.

4 --- Premier League begins - August
This is where the money can be made. Just remember you must finish in the top two-thirds or you will be relegated to the Open League. Check out the threads and you'll learn that these Open League freerolls have 10K per game, fill within ten minutes, and have a massive number of maniacs.

Do hope you are active in July, otherwise you will need to finish in the top 500 active players to advance. That means anyone starting in August will have to survive a field of 70K donkeys and shovemonkeys to advance.

Congratulations! Your dream of a tiered league have come true. Since the old hedgehog cannot play, I'll be on the sidelines cheering you on. Even I need a good laugh or two. No, I've never wished you ill and I'll not start now. But you're in deep (censored) if you don't make it to the Premier League this month since this will be the easiest time to do so.

Well then, as a fellow American, you're screwed. Cash games, including the freerolls are off limits to us. Since this is now in the courts, you can anticipate a minor delay of joining the league of about three to five years. The time dependent on how vigorously PokerStars wants the additional hassle of the American player.

If you're online, check for me. I'm usually playing the 27-player sng. Only place we'll meet across the virtual felt on this site. Continue hunting for someplace else. Check to see if they will accept Americans, and if their games appeal. I know the site I'm on now does on the first, but fails on the second.

i noticed theres a lot of people with profile within the US still playing, what's going on? Theres no way that, that many people actually live outside the US and the profile out of date. I want to get back in the pso too.
