Hi there,

I'd like to know people's opinion about this hand.
It got me kicked out of the premier leage in 96th position.

I'm in 17th position, stack = +7000 and 97 players left
BB=600
I have KQs on the SB and call 1800 pre flop
The flop shows T-K-8
my opponent's stack is about the same size, but I suspect him of trying to steal the blinds.
Having toppair and Q-kicker, I go all in (+5000 left, pot sized bet)
My opponent calls and shows AK !

Should I have played this more carefully?
Or was I right by thinking that chances of him having AK (or AA) are so small, it's worth taking the risk?
after all, if I bet less and fold for his raise (almost sure to come with AK), I have hardly anything left to keep on playing (3-4 BB).
Your advise/opinions please!
Thank you.

KQ off in small blind - around 11xBB - looks good to me - Fri Aug 05, 2011, 07:03 AM
