Hi there,

again a hand that kicked me out of a tournament (Splash satelite)
Your opinions please.

I'm in !^th position, 75 players left, 46 wil have a seat in the Splash tournament.
My stack = 255.000
I'm in late position
BB = 6000
a few limpers before me, I limp with K5

The flop shows 5-A-K

I bet 15000
all fold, except the button who raises (probably has AA with low kicker)
Since I have 2 pair, I decide to go all in
He is a very big stack (375.000) and calls me (which I expected!)
Unfortunately, he gets a pair of deuces on the turn+river and I'm out
in 69th position (no seat for me!)

Should I have played this more carefully?
I certainly could have, but I figured that, the chances of him getting a
second pair are so small..........(8% for his kicker)
After all, chances are that, since he had AQ, If I hadn't pressured him, he would have done it with me!

I'd like to know how other people would have played this hand :
defensively, or agressively (like me)

Your opinions please!
Thank you

top 20 in chips..?. 42ish BB deep? 29 to drop for your ticket? thats a fold pre all day every day! You're not tryin' to win this thing, just be in the top 46. Even if you get there w/ 1 chip left... no brainer fold..imo

It happens, K5 can't win every time.

100% fold preflop, satellite or not (ESPECIALLY in a satellite in your position). Next best option is raise.

fold >>> raise > call preflop

You have to play satelites differently than a normal MTT.

If you are sitting in 6th(Im guessing) than you should be tanking the clock and folding to the ticket.
