was just wondering if you are always getting points or if you loose them for making the first bubble each time?

for example:

the bubble is 1000, and the player coming first in points comes 999, would he gain points or loose?

If you're referring to the 1440 Hand for hand mark in a 10k field the answer is no, eventually your points will get high enough where even that mark will earn you a tiny negative. Your score needs to be fairly high up for this to factor in though.
