I have been told that it is because they dont have a trainer yet that has a significant sample size beating these yet.

Hi Ross and welcome to the forum.

I'm not sure on this, so Roomik is probably right. The head live trainer may have something to add if he sees this. I'll send him a pm.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi guys,

sorry for the late response, I was at the wsop circuit. Roomik is close, we don't have any live trainers who play HU as a focus. As the community grows and there is a large enough demand for this, we will likely look at expanding in that direction when warranted.

Thanks,
Dave

I think finding a heads up specialist will be a tricky task.

There is not a lot of material on HU play on the site, all I found was a few articles. Do you have to be a specialist to give solid insight on head up play? I don't think so. It is an important aspect of the game, you cant win a tournament without winning heads up. PSO and it's membership would benefit from more material on HU play.

This is true of course, and I have covered HU play in live training already. It's covered in one of my theory classes (MTT Final Table Theory Part 2) and in play example (MTT 40 player replay Part 2). Both Andy and Chris run the occasional session where they get HU in a sng of various sizes as well... in fact Chris has one coming up this Thursday night, part 2 of a replayer session he got HU in a 180-man.

There will be more play examples as they come up. This is not an extensive, detailed treating of HU play imo, but it's what we have available so to suggest we have nothing is not accurate. I think the theory class I cited above is a good start, and we will continue to add examples of play as they arise, but an extensive, detailed treating of HU play would require someone with the experience of time focused on that very unique form of NLHE.

I did mention I found a few articles from doing a search for HU material, but using the PSO search feature that is all I could find. I was not aware of your videos that cover HU play, I'll be checking them out soon. You said in your earlier post that if there was a greater demand for HU material PSO could look at going in that direction. I'm really just trying to show that I support having more material on the subject whether it's in the form of videos or articles

This is a training video for HU by Kid Poker (pokerstars pro) on a POKERSTARS TABLE was my point.
How can another site have access to this and not pokerstars own site.
Sorry i didn't realize what the other site was I thought it was just similar to you tube.

My guess is contractual rights, the other training site does not allow for that particular video to be displayed by any other training platform... basic business competition and all. But honestly I'm not privvy to Daniel's video making or contract with PS or other sites, so I can't really answer you.

Hi all,

Great news, we are going to have a Heads Up training session this Sunday 10/30 at 14:00 ET (right after my Mail Bag session).

The trainer will be HoRRoR77, he is a live trainer on the German platform (I've included his bio here). This Sunday's session will be a test run, in that English is not his native tongue... he would like to try training in English and we would love to have a HU trainer visiting with us, so we're going to give it a shot. If all goes well and he's able to effectively conduct the training in English, we will endeavor to have his HU wisdom here more in the future.

Here's a link to the registration page for HoRRoR77's session this Sunday

Here is a copy of his bio from the training page:

Quote:
André began his poker career in 2005 with Fixed Limit Hold'em. He switched to SnGs later on. Since 2007 he has scored a lot of online and live successes in tournaments. Currently Andé is playing Heads-Up SnGs with buyins ranging from $50 to $200. Since October 2011 he has been offering live HU-SnG and MTT-Satellite trainings.
I'll be there, I hope you all join me in giving André a warm PSO welcome.

Dave

Thanks for the follow up effort Dave.
Look forward to it.
Just have to try and work out what time that would be in Australia.

Great news, glad to see this. Think we can manage even if Andre' is not comfortable with English. I'll second chuckkky, great job with the follow up Dave.
