Starting Felix's 6max cash game challenge. Don't really have too much time at the moment as I'm in my final year of University, but whatever spare time I have will go towards poker.

Limiting myself to a maximum of 4 tables, and will play sessions lasting about an hour

Results of session 1:
Stake: $.01c/.02c NLHE
Time played: 62 minutes
Hands played: 386
Result: +$5.64

Overall results:
$5.64

Comments:
Have been trying to stay away from the regs and get into a lot of situations with the weaker loose passive players. So far so good.

Nice start Hero and good return for the hour. I would certainly advice you to look at Felix's videos at grinding up through the micros if you have not done so already.

Villain could have a bigger pocket pair or he could be on a draw. It would be interesting to know if this is worth calling.

Any reads on the villain???

Edit: You are moving up nicely here.

Villain was playing very tight, (<10 VPIP), although I only had a ~30 hand sample size. I asked him afterwards and he said he had 99, although I'm not sure whether I believe him

It is definitely a tough spot and hard to get away from, but the reraise or is it a 3bet (never sure of the terminology) by the villain on the turn should alert you to the possibility of a higher straight. I would have flat called at this point and checked the river; if he continued I would have folded.

And I would suggest that if you have any difficult spots that as well as posting them on your challenge thread it is better to put them in the Hand Analysis thread as well. It is also useful to give your reads, thought processes etc etc.

They will then be evaluated by the Hand Analysis team who know what they are talking about and know the correct terminology as well.

Cheers,

TC
