All well and fine posting blogs and challenges here, but I would like to have a few more achievements to record as well

This is not from a cash tournament, so doesn't belong in the 'big wins' thread. It is from last night's UKIPT Division 2 League tournament. I haven't featured at an FT in one of these for some months, and had started this month poorly.

I reached the FT in 7th of 9 with the chip distribution as follows

Table '461050982 33' 9-max Seat #1 is the button
Seat 1: karen600 (77862 in chips)
Seat 2: EdinFreeMan (46980 in chips) out of hand (moved from another table into small blind)
Seat 3: FlompyD (16428 in chips)
Seat 4: Po Kerr 1758 (172997 in chips)
Seat 5: AisforAlec (224407 in chips)
Seat 6: iceflow (19356 in chips)
Seat 7: FIRE STARTA7 (285026 in chips)
Seat 8: no1tomsk (115496 in chips)
Seat 9: bill412111 (176948 in chips)

Under 10BB in hand at that point, and some dominant chipstacks to fade as well, but I hung in. There was a very long and interesting three way battle, until karen600 knocked out Po Kerr 1758 to get us heads up.

Table '461050982 33' 9-max Seat #2 is the button
Seat 1: karen600 (764548 in chips)
Seat 2: EdinFreeMan (370952 in chips)

So, about 2 to 1 chip lead for Karen, but with the BB now at 12,000 I at least had enough of a stack to make a game of it

4 and a quarter hours in, hand 353

Very nice!

Coming in as a short stack to take down the win is always a little "sweeter" that cruising to the victory as the big stack!

Here's to hoping your NEXT win comes very quickly hereafter!

Nice win Edin!

I've played in this league game and there are some quite good players in it due to the sweet carrot prize for the overall league winner.

The UKIPT series is a great tour and I hope to play both Irish rounds next year.

Wishing you the very best for the rest of this league..... I'd love to see a PSO member take it down!

Well done Ed. I agree that making the final table means its a big win even if its not a bit cash win.

Good work Ed

Managed a 3rd in div 1 last night (I hijacked the myth thread with a couple of FT hands).

Suprised you're not playing div 1. With £250 guanranteed and usually only about 170 players they work out to be good value.

Hope you have put yourself up for the Member of the week. Tried to nominate you, but apparently it don't work that way. Go for it!

Thanks very much to everybody for your supportive comments here. It means a lot to get this kind of encouragement from so many people I respect here at PSO.

Nice work in Div 1 steveisnot.

I did play 6 games there this month, using the tickets I had won through Div 2 in September. Only managed one min cash for £1.50 and decided I would not continue there this month.

Partly that decision is the cost of those games £1.10 or about $1.58, which is a bit rich for my bankroll, partly it is that I don't like the structure as much, and partly it is that I am already playing 4 tables at that time anyway this month, with PSO Premier, UKIPT Div 2 and Facebook $0.10 and Freeroll league games all kicking off at 7:00pm WET. That reaches my limit for NLHE multi-tabling. I have only played a couple of full months in Div 1 over the last couple of years with limited success. It is a much better overall standard with very few poor players, whereas UKIPT Div 2 has a much greater mix of standard of players.

My general plan is only to play UKIPT Div 1 in future when I have won the weeks worth of tickets as part of a Div 2 Prize, and continue on in those months if I have cashed for £££ prizes and extra points in the first week.

As for the member of the week promo, thanks again for the thought. I might consider it in the future, although not sure I would meet all the criteria - not much for social networking sites for a start. Registered with facebook just for the PS League passwords. Put one tweet on Twitter that just asked the question 'why would anybody want to do this?' Basically an old Luddite. (Still watching VHS and listening to FM/MW radio.)

However, I'm not sure I agree with the adage that you can't teach an old dog new tricks. This old dog has certainly learnt a lot of new stuff here at PSO, so you never know.

Thanks again and good luck to all at PSO
