I haven't been playing poker for money for very long, but since I made the transition from freeplay to money things have had their ups and down. I don't have a video of this as it was on a different site. Slugging it out for an afternoon on a cash table I'm up about $70 at which point I intend to cash out and enjoy the evening when the SB just makes a call to the BB where I'm sat with pocket 4's so I check. The flop shows 4 4 10 and I'm facing an all-in of $57 from the SB and naturally I snap call (rubbing my hands together as I do so). SB shows AA against my quad 4's and we go to the turn... which shows an A, and on to the river... where the last A shows up. Poker lesson 1 learned the hard way, poker is to the river!

Unlucky, but as you say it happens.

I flopped quad q not that long ago and lost to a royal flush on a 45/1 river.
