Hey Folks,
For those how dont know me, I'm Dr.Kauffer a PSO member for a few month now, which for me the best forum out there at the moment.

I decided to take the cowboys challenge for the 2nd time, and find out if i can achieve the same result or better, after attending many of the free poker sessions that are provided by the PSO poker trainers. I am looking to do 1000 games at $0.25 buy in 45 man MTT. and grind the micros to upper levels, using the correct bankroll management, that i have learnt from the trainers.

for now,

Hey Folks,
My first $0.25 buy in 45 man just finished managed to turn profit in my first tourny,as the next picture will show. I will try to update my blog as i play the tournies.

Playing Statistics:

PokerStars Tournament #470650697, No Limit Hold'em
Buy-In: $0.23/$0.02 USD
45 players

You finished in 5th place (eliminated at hand #70717074860).

126 hands played and saw flop:
- 1 times out of 19 while in small blind (5%)
- 10 times out of 20 while in big blind (50%)
- 4 times out of 87 in other positions (5%)
- a total of 15 times out of 126 (12%)

Pots won at showdown - 3 out of 4 (75%)
Pots won without showdown - 3

Note: this stats shows that i have played a tight agressive play, no much action, few hands played, as the decks wasnt kind to me at all, this game was all about pacience and take the few hands that i have been dealt to a showdown and win.

Starting Bankroll $6.25
Ending Bankrool $6.93

Hey Folks,
Here is my second tournement that i have played for my challenge,as my stats will show not a good start of the day.

PokerStars Tournament #471109339, No Limit Hold'em
Buy-In: $0.23/$0.02 USD
45 players
Total Prize Pool: $10.35 USD
Tournament started 2011/11/18 16:26:34 ET Tournament finished 2011/11/18 18:17:46 ET

Finished 45th place.

Sumary
Pick up AK UTG +2, UTG open for a 5x raise, i have decided to call, board was 3h 6s 9h i have decided that he could be doing it with AQ decided to shove all in to get him to fold, he called showing JJ, and took it down.

1st-Mistake not recognizing that with his raise of 5x he could have already a made hand.

2nd-Mistake, quiet coordinated board in my opinion after reviewing this hand, check the flop could have save me the tournement.

3rd Mistake- over played AK

Bankroll

Starting - $6.93
Ending- $6.68

Hey Peeps,
Just pop in for an update in my challenge as we reach tourny number 24.

Summary

As been a very rough, challenge comparing to my last challenge, i have experienced some big swings, but managed to recover, and i hope to move from there in y next block os 25 tournies.

Graph Stats

[IMG][/IMG]

Notes:

As the above graph ilustrates, from tourny 6 to number 20, was a bad street of bad luck mixed with horrible plays.
Now had to reavaluate my game and changed slightly my approach to the game. Decided to show a quiet loose image in the early stages and as the levels progress start being tighter, and when the blinds get real big, start playing a push fold game, taking advantage of weak/ tight players.

Summary of my play

Level 1 to level 4
Playing any pair, any suited cards and any broadway cards-playing small ball poker, disputing lots of pots, given a loose image to the table.

Level 5 to 8

Playing AJ suited to Ak, 55 through AA, Suit connectors in position and broadways in position.

Late stages blinds over 800

6 handed or less, playing push fold game, with A5 or better, k10 or better, limping 22 through 66

Doc, those downswings will happen. Since I'm in the US, can't play the quarter games, but am playing the 320 play money ones, which play VERY similar. In each of the sets of 100, I've had at least 1 run of 10 games that were 1-10 ITM or worse, one I had a 20 game streak.

Hang in, keep playing your game, make good decisions and it'll even out.

Hey folks,
My first quarter in y challenge just finished, and here is some more updates:

Summary

Played very solid, took always advantage of weak plays, like limpers, always punishing them, 3 bet steals, added to the arsenal, big push fold game, made me end up in 3rd place.

Another stats:

I would like to post here a few more stats, i would like to leave you with my last 200 hands, since i adjusted my game, and you probably will notice that i am playing more won pots without show down, this is simply because as i explain in the previous posts, i have readjusted my game according to the tables, i am playing a much more agressive push fold game, also because i get to see more flops in earlly stages which aloud me to build my stack, towards the end as the blinds increase i am tighten up more, as i cant spew chips. Early stages i am playing small ball poker, given an idea of a maniac player, towards the end changing gears to TAG style play, but adding a more agressive approach to the game. it is also important to be able to read the table, players, and, be confident of your post flop game, and sometimes know when to fold your aces, in essence bet when you are ahead, fold when you beat.

200 hands played and saw flop:
- 3 times out of 37 while in small blind (8%)
- 17 times out of 36 while in big blind (47%)
- 10 times out of 127 in other positions (8%)
- a total of 30 times out of 200 (15%)

Pots won at showdown - 4 out of 11 (36%)
Pots won without showdown - 21
