I fell just short last night, but my second attempt was a success, I scraped in 79th of 81 for a ticket.

I am in the 10th Anniversary Sunday Storm on 11th December. Normally I take the $11 T-money, but if I'm going to give it a shot sometime it might as well be this big one.

Excellent job Ed!

I wish you the very best for December 11th.

You had a great run in the UKIPT league also in November!

It didn't go unnoticed

Keep it up!

Good luck Ed.

I am interested to know your strategy in these tournaments do you rebuy, just take the add on or just treat it as a freeroll?

Thanks.

I have only played two so far. The first one I didn't rebuy but took the add-on for $0.50 as I was below the ITM spots when the add-on period started, but thought I had a good shot at climbing into the ticket spots. The second one I didn't rebuy or add-on, though there was a period at the end I wished I had taken the add-on, as I would have been all in on the blinds the very next hand if the tournament hadn't finished. I just scraped through at 79th of 81 but could have done with the extra 2K chips.

I've essentially treated them as a freeroll, with the add-on as an option if I think I have a good chance to get ITM by taking those extra chips. The usual sunday storm satellites are $2.20 with a 1 in 5 chance to get the ticket (I've tried a few of these, it isn't bad odds - no rebuys/add-ons though) . These special satellites had 50 added tickets but fields around 1800, tickets went up to around 80-85 with the rebuy/add-on cash, so lower absolute odds than the regular satellites. But with so few people rebuying maybe that would be a good option. I'm not a rebuy tournament player usually, other than the 2FPP+R Saturday Splash satellites, so I'm not the best person to ask about strategy.

I'm happy with my $11 ticket for $0.50 and will play the rest the same way. There are a limited number of these though so if you really want to play this specific storm tourney, a more aggressive approach and willingness to multiple rebuy might be a good strategy.

Good luck

Best of luck Ed and Joy.

Congrats on getting there. I think I would be playing this too, rather than cashing in the ticket.

Go get 'em.

That's a hat-trick - 3 in a row.

I have to admit that I did spend $0.50 on the $2k chips add-on for this one, and I had $8k left at the end so maybe wasn't necessary, but it did make the final stages less stressful.

Still a pretty good return on investment.
