I for one think that the axing of the dollr mnyhly sattelites last month and the complete axing of tournament with no explanation or apology to be replaced by sexist women only tournaments is a disgrace and a very unpopular move the friendly atmosphere and commarardery found in these attelites will be missed by all who participated its just blatant costcutting at expense of loyal pso members a great loss

Yes, I'd like to see them reinstated, but I'm afraid I can't align myself with the remainder of your views. Everybody loves a freebie and it's sad when one disappears, but what remains is still unmatched anywhere else in the online poker world.

Sometimes I think we poker players need to take a reality check. The entire world's economy is currently in a dreadful state and nobody is immune. If there was something better on offer we wouldn't be here, would we ?

Hi Greycowboy,

The announcement was made some weeks back by Dan I believe; perhaps he can point us to the post if he is on later.

Darkman as usual makes a very good point about the realities of the world economy but since I am not privy to the internal workings of Pokerstars I could not say whether that is the reason or not.

What I can say with some certainty is that PokerSchoolOnline are always working to bring new and exciting promotions online for their members. As soon as we get concrete details the community here will be the first to know about any developments that are coming in the future!

Cheers,

TC

i fully appreciate the fact that we have no right to excpect freebies as a right but feel a better way for pso to have gone with this would have been to retain or even add to the tourneys perhaps without the added seats or prize money would still give peole in pso a private tourney to play and socialise which is my largest problem with the axing

I clicked on disagree because,

I hope they use the amount towards a new tournament
They want to attract traffic to the forum then they should use it for a forum tournament. All those that have at least 5 or 10 post minimum would participate to this tournament.

If nothing is done with the extra $1,000, then it's wrong and should leave it where it was

Just my 2 cents

a lot of the players that play in these satterlites do post in the forum too no ones yet commented on my other point that wnile male members have less tourneys now there is a surge in ladies only games which i didnt even think were legally allowed in these days i have always believed in equal rights and supported female equality but find this disturbing while trying to find good tournaments and finding them have them removed

I totally agree with your view that it should be reinstated GC.
BRING BACK THE 1K PSO TOURNEY.

There's not many tournaments you can play in now where u know the majority of the players and if you want to drop the 3 seats added fair enough. But leave us with a tourney that we all enjoy.

I was hoping some1 would start a thread on this matter. B

well; i can see their point, with 100 or so runners they are losing 900 per monthly.

i hope they replace it or scale it down, though.

Lets see now, lets use some logic

It's a business, why should they give away $1,000 and get nothing in return?
100 players, that's very small participation when there's over 200,000 members

As for ladies only, get over it, there's ladies leagues in everything these days, I'm sure you can find a tournaments or satellites to fit your needs.

Like Darkman said, there are plenty of freebies around, you just need to look

PS. greycowboy as for "a lot of the players that play in these satellites do post in the forum", how does 5 out of 77 as of today mean a lot? you only have 6 posts and 3 of them are in this thread...LOL!!

Its not the money thats the thing in this,it's just that the people from around the world have got to know each other. Its a great game with great people. I've never enjoyed a game as much as this one .If they need to make more money put it up slightly but to axe it is aweful. We get up at 6.30 every morning just to play it,not for the money but the people.

Obviously you dont play these and by the sounds of it we wouldn't want you to, make it a free game then so as not to annoy you sandtrap. Nothing wrong with liking the people you play with from around the world. Maybe your just not a friendly nice guy like the pso people.

LOL... I guess you have no clue of what we are talking about
We are talking about the 1K added $1 tournament at the end of every month
NOT the PSO, Don't worry the PSO will be back, it usually starts on the 3rd dat of the month

I agree that they are friendly tournies and will be sad to see the daily PSO's go. Why not just keep it going without the 1K added.Or just change the format and make it $1 to play the daily games with 50% of the buyin going towards the prize money for monthly game, have no direct buyin to the monthly game, meaning that you have to qualify through the daily game With 40 entries per tourny and 2 tournies a day the prize pool would be $1200 each month just from the 50% and if you had just 1 person qualify from each daily tourny the total prize money would be $1800. I believe this would get more people interested in the daily tournies instead of just coming along to play in the monthly game.

Sand's making the point that there's not much good that can come from whining about your free money not being free enough. I agree that I'd like to see this game come back, but I'm not going to get upset if it doesn't happen.

"Oh no, two women love me. They're both gorgeous and sexy. My wallet's too small for my fifties AND MY DIAMOND SHOES ARE TOO TIGHT."

Sitcom reference anyone?

Hello,

thank you guys for your feedback and your interest in this promotion.

We have announced before that this promotion will end in December 2011 and we are working on interesting new promotions right now.

Meanwhile: Have you checked out our Promotion-Page and our Skill-League-Promotion yet? There are a lot of pso fellows participating in our Skill League. If you guys want to play a "friendly" game I would recommend PokerStars Homegames. We have an own forum section to meet-up and organise your Homegames.

Please stay tuned for further announcements about new promotions.

Regards,
Christopher

I wish it would be reinstated as this was my favourite tourny nothing to do with the money as ive never won none in the final ive won 4 or 5 tickets since august. for me it was the people i met and played with which i looked forward to each night it was friendly and a pleasure to participate with these people.i have just learned also that div 1 and div 2 have also been axed where will it end? so more friendly people i wont be playing with,so looks like back to sngs playing with strangers again.
