With all the enthusiasm that comes with being a new PSO member, I humbly submit my name to the Member of the Month promotion. That Saturday Line Up Package is too alluring not to!

About Roland GTX TWITTERBLOGSPOTCurrent Forum Post Current Blog Post
I’ve been on Pokerstars since 2008. You can find me most days of the week multitabling micro and low stakes tournaments. Lately, I’ve been regging for turbo 45s and 180s, but I also play MTTs like the Sunday Storm whenever I have the time.

I Play for Fun
I play poker simply because it’s fun! I’ve got nearly 10 000 tourneys under my belt, and am more or less break even. I’m happy that my favorite hobby costs me little more than time, but I am not satisfied with break even poker. I want to improve my game, and that is why I joined the PSO. I expect to learn much here, and hope to help others improve as well.

As a recreational player,I average about an hour a day on Pokerstars. Multitabling allows me to squeeze more games into my time online; thus, more fun! I talk about how multitabling helps me reduce tilt in the 2nd update to my PSO blog chronicling my current Bankroll Challenge.

Shaun F***ing Deeb!
My most memorable Pokerstars experience came in a Turbo Takedown when I landed at the same table as Shaun Deeb! I didn’t make the money, but did have a great time playing alongside such a big gun.

My most memorable live experience occurred on my first visit to a casino. I made the final table of a 60 man tourney! I also doubled up with quads there after the villain mistakenly thought that her ace high flush was the nuts - nice! I got railed an orbit later after a classic ”right move, wrong result”. Nonetheless, I ended with a solid cash and a very memorable evening of poker! You might get something out of my forum post, Losing with the Best Hand... and Happy about it!, as it deals with accepting ”right move, wrong result” as an inherent part of poker.

Tight May be Right, but Aggression Wins the Hand
Harrington on Hold’em (Vol. I and II) taught me to be tight, but Collin Moshman’s Sit’n Go Strategy taught me how to be Aggressive! This book made me realize that a year’s worth of 3rd place finishes and bubble boy losses were mainly due to blinding out. Passiveness was my problem, not tightness. Don’t fall into the same trap I did! All that remains now is for the PSO experts to teach me when to be aggressive and I might finally start turning a consistent profit.

Thinking about Poker...
I don’t need to be playing poker to improve my game - nor do you. I think about poker while driving to work. I review my stats in Holdem Manager once a week. I've also had my own poker blog since 2009 where my live game friends discuss hands and strategies. I’m currently hyping the PSO there and persuading my group to sign up. You might also enjoy taking a look my custom chipset while you are visiting.

Recently, I also discovered a friendly community of poker players offering an amazing poker resource. Why pay a monthly fee to watch recorded videos on other sites, when it costs nothing to be an active participant in a Live Training session here at PSO?! I know this sounds like a commercial, but dear reader, it doesn’t get much better than this!

Yes, I’m stoked about being part of the PSO, and optimistic that 2012 will be a watershed year! Perhaps I can parlay the Saturday Lineup Package into a big final table cash!

Good Luck and Have Fun at the tables!

Hi RolandGTX!

I checked through all your stuff, and you are now qualified for Member of the Month in Feburary!

Please note: While you can change your blog and forum post link at any time in the month of February, only the link posted on the day of data collection (last day of the month) will be used to count your views, and only those views will be added to your score.

If you feel a forum post or blog link is getting a bit "old", and is not receiving much attention, you can certainly post some new stuff and replace the links!

Good luck!

(P.S. Nice blog! I added a comment.)

Thanks JDean both for approving my application and for the heads up regarding the rating system!

Thanks for posting on my "other" blog, as well. Blogspot isn't Facebook, but everyone who visits mine over there is pretty interested in poker
