Hi! guys, I had recently been moved to this table so no reads on the opps. Its middle stages of the tourney, still about 900 to go before the money bubble.

I decided to 3B the original raiser to take the initiative in the hand, should I have flat called him in order to save some chips if someone shoves behind us?

I was going to call BTN shove as even if I had lost the hand I would still have 28BB's. But once the original raiser shoves who has us covered the value of 10's shrinks a lot.

Whats the right play in this spot?
Was it right to fold or there enough chips in the middle to take a chance to build a stack which could enable us to make a deep run?

Cheers.

Against two previous all in's, I would be mucking the tens and waiting for a better spot. At best you're racing against overs, at worst you're dominated by an over pair.

Thanks joy, thats exactly what I did as I felt its not worth risking your tournament life with 10's. But will be surprised what hands the opps were shoving with.

Cheers.

Hi deadeyz!

I like the thought of 3-betting here with pocket 10's. I'd have raised a bit more though and made it 900.
When the button shoves and the original raiser over-shoves.... I don't like my 10's as much now, as I'm either in a 3-way race or dominated and would muck them now.

If it was a league game, I could absolutely flat the initial raise (since I'd want to be conserving chips), but with it being a standard mtt, I like the 3-bet.

Yes, I want to be accumulating chips, but I want to try and find a better spot, hopefully against only one opponent.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.
