My goals for 2012 –
Decided to make a thread laying out my goals for 2012 as I like how Croyd93 is setting his goals and the success is having so I thought i would make something similar myself.

Sit n Go’s
The first thing i am going to talk about is my Sit n Go game, I am currently taking a sng challenge as of where i started with a $3 roll in the hope that i could grind it up to a decent profit by playing at first the $0.25 45 and 90 man games, then moving up making sure i have a good amount of buy in’s at each level. Here is the link for my challenge thread...... http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/for...n-Go-Challenge

This was originally a team challenge but the player i was doing it with decided he didn’t want to move up a level so have decided to do it on my own, this is why i only started with a $3 roll. I have managed to grind this up to $12.50, this is how they played out –

Starting Bankroll Buy in Position Profit/Loss Closing Bankroll
$3 $0.25 13/90 $-0.25 $2.75
$2.75 $0.25 25/45 $-0.25 $2.50
$2.50 $0.25 2/90 $+3.57 $6.07
$6.07 $0.25 19/45 $-0.25 $5.82
$5.82 $0.25 17/90 $-0.25 $5.57
$5.57 $0.25 2/45 $+1.97 $7.54
$7.54 $0.25 28/45 $-0.25 $7.29
$7.29 $0.25 17/45 $-0.25 $7.04
$7.01 $0.25 18/45 $-0.25 $6.79
$6.76 $0.25 11/45 $-0.25 $6.54
$6.54 $0.25 14/90 $-0.25 $6.29
$6.29 $0.25 32/90 $-0.25 $6.04
$6.04 $0.25 15/90 $-0.25 $5.79
$5.79 $0.25 2/90 $+3.57 $9.36
$9.36 $0.25 44/45 $-0.25 $9.11
$9.11 $0.25 37/90 $-0.25 $8.86
$8.86 $0.25 17/45 $-0.25 $8.61
$8.61 $0.25 14/45 $-0.25 $8.36
$8.36 $0.25 26/90 $-0.25 $8.11
$8.11 $0.25 12/45 $-0.25 $7.86
$7.86 $0.25 8/90 $+0.49 $8.35
$8.35 $0.25 4/45 $+1.04 $9.39
$9.39 $0.25 32/90 $-0.25 $9.14
$9.14 $0.25 27/90 $-0.25 $8.89
$8.89 $0.25 9/90 $+0.37 $9.26
$9.26 $0.25 4/90 $+1.71 $10.97
$10.97 $0.25 41/90 $-0.25 $10.72
$10.72 $0.25 38/90 $-0.25 $10.47
$10.47 $0.25 14/90 $-0.25 $10.22
$9.97 $0.25 63/90 $-0.25 $9.72
$9.72 $0.25 36/90 $-0.25 $9.47
$9.47 $0.25 21/90 $-0.25 $9.22
$9.22 $0.25 18/90 $-0.25 $8.97
$8.97 $0.25 41/90 $-0.25 $8.72
$8.72 $0.25 49/90 $-0.25 $8.47
$8.47 $0.25 16/90 $-0.25 $8.22
$8.22 $0.25 3/90 $+2.64 $10.86
$10.86 $0.25 1/45 $+2.98 $13.84

What i like about these sng’s is that even if you go on a run of 10 or so tournaments without a cash you can easily make up for it with 1 deep run. Obviously i managed to make for than $12.50 on the challenge but because we were working as a team i have to send some over to start the next level.
Getting back to my goals for these i will be looking to use these levels to grind my cash up in the challenge –

Base Level : —25c 45man
Base Level —: 25c 90man
Over $20 —: 50c 45man Turbo (40x)
Over $25 —: 50c 90man Turbo (50x)
Over $40 —: $1 45man (40x)
Over $45 —: $1 90man Turbo (45x)
Over $60 —: $1.50 45man Turbo (4)
Over $60—: $1.50 90man KO (40x)
Over $100 —: $2.50 90man (40x)

My overall goal for these is to get that $100 bankroll to play the $2.50 90 mans and if i make around $200 out of it, i will use that bankroll to invest in some MTT’s.

Cash Games
I originally started off a challenge on my blog as of where i have so far grinded $30 up to around $87 in just over 30k hands, here’s my up to date graph......

Managed to keep a steady profit building from each day, a few downswings in there but in the micros i guess you’re always gunna have a bad day or a bad session at times.

There’s a table of how i’ve been getting on in each session and it shows how you can go from a $10 winning day to a $10 losing day and right back up to an $11 winning day again :-0
Overall im enjoying this new zoom feature on Stars and running good
Studying
I will be looking to go through hands in most of my sessions obviously the main hands to go through would be the biggest losing hands and see how i can improve or any easy spots i have missed in the winning hands for value etc.
I will also be looking to watch a few of the video’s on PSO each week after finding some of the leaks in my game, i will evaluate my leaks and see which videos will help me most
Very happy with my game at the moment, in both sng’s and cash games really think i can beat this level and hopefully move up to 5NL by the end of may, will keep you guys updated as to how i get on each week.

Weekly update.....Week 2 –

Had a good week at the cash tables, always trying out new ways to play, will be going through what i have done this week in my poker life.

Sit n Go’s –

Decided to scrap my sit n go challenge that i was taking before so i can start a monthly cowboy challenge and go for the extra prizes that the cowboy himself is giving out to players with the highest ROI% for the month.

So my aim is to play 100 sit n go’s and of course......make as much money as i possibly can through the month of may

I will be sticking to what i know in this playing 100 45/90 man’s at the $0.25 level.
If i do well enough in the challenge this month then i will probably move up to a higher buy in challenge next month depending on how well i do and how much i have by the end of the month.
Cash Games –

Total Profit/Loss for the week - $+12.02

Another good week at the tables, seem to be keeping a good consistent run of results in cash games over a good amount of hands.

One thing that was pointed out to me over the week though was how much i’d been losing in the losing sessions compared to how much i’d been winning in my biggest winning sessions and it seems that on average my losing sessions are a lot higher than my winning sessions and if i do go on a bad run it’s going to cost me, this is probably because i carried on playing in those losing sessions to try and get my money back therefore i need to know when to quit, and probably to carry on playing longer to book bigger winning sessions.

Another thing i tried out this week was mass multi tabling, i only started using it on the final day, as you can see i played like 5x more hands that day than i did in the last 6 in the week. Because i don’t get much time to play a load of hands in cash and having to play rush so much where i have next to no information on my opponents i thought i’d look into multi tabling as i’ve seen a few pokerstars players doing it with a lot of success.

The first thing i did was watch “Frosty’s” video on PSO about mass multi tabling and how to do it, in the video he used a programme called “Tableninja” it looked really good how he had it set up and how he had time to play like 20 tables and still have the time to bring up the lobby and do other stuff simply because he could act so fast.

So what did i do.........i went and bought it of course, now im 20 tabling the micros with ease to get enough hands in and seeming to be working ok for me in that first session a did with around $3 profit in over 2k hands.

I prefer that to the rush tables because i can get more info on my opponents and make better decisions.
MTT’s
Still don’t really play any MTT’s other than the odd $0.10 or a $0.55 and haven’t had any real success in those but one goal i am looking to add in is to try and put the points i earn at the tables to good use.
I will be looking to try and use my points at the end of each month to satellite into a big tournament....e.g. the Sunday storm which i played the other week, hopefully i can make it into one and have some success :-)

Another thing i thought i should mention is the freeroll leagues i am playing in this month as i have a few goals i want to meet for them.

I am playing 3 different types of freeroll, one is the 100K depositors freeroll of which they have 8 running a day atm for the last month and i qualify for all of them (up to the end of may).
I am also playing in the “Bankroll Mob” leaderboard freerolls to try and cash in that, they are good tournaments but the structure is not as good as PSO, but it’s free and theres good money up for grabs if you do well :-)

And of course im playing in the PSO Open league this month and my goal for that is to play as many as i can and try and qualify for the premier league with 150 vpp’s

So overall has been another good week at the tables, hopefully can keep it up for next week and have some interesting stuff to talk about, cheers for reading if you go this far

Hey Ads, congrats so far! I admire anyone who tries to build a roll from nothing. I've played over 6,500 of the 0.10 360man turbos and made like $500 so far.

As I'm a huge fan of bankroll management, I wasn't too sure about you starting with 0.25 games from only $3, but you've seemed to manage well. I also recommend that players such as yourself try the 0.10 games, and try to multitable a lot. Even though it seems like a backwards step, they are super easy games to beat. I'd say at least 300 of the 360 field are absolutely HORRIBLE players!

Keep up the good work.

I like the $0.25 cents cause theres more play, most players are like bingo players in the $0.10 so u have to win a lot of flips to make the money.

Congrats on making $500 tho

Weekly update 3 - delayed this week cause of how busy I've been , proven by the fact I'm writing this on my break in work

Cash Games -

Haven't really played very much cash this week mainly because I haven't had the time and partly because I started to go on a bad run so I decided to cut down on my cash games and concentrate on my sit n go challenge and playing a few MTT's

Did manage to get a few sessions in though, here's the damage -

Date............... S Roll..... Hands... Profit/Loss. C Roll
01/05/2012..... $100.64.....1266..........$+3.11........$103.75
02/05/2012.....$103.75.....1526..........$-3.05..........$100.70
03/05/2012.....$100.70.....607..........$+0.44.........$101.14
04/05/2012.....$101.14.....1396..........$-8.94.........$92.20
05/05/2012.....$92.20.....1211..........$+3.13.........$95.33
06/05/2012.....$95.33...........6..........$-0.05.........$95.28
07/05/2012.....$95.28.......775..........$-1.69..........$93.59
10/05/2012.....$93.59....252........$+3.39.........$96.98

Total Profit/Loss for the week - $-3.66

Sit n go's

I'm abut 30 tournaments into the hundred tournament cowboy challenge, had a bad start but managed to pull it back with a win in the 30th game :p I'm now on almost double the starting roll of $6.25 amazing what a couple deep runs can do for your roll in these sit n go's.
You can find my thread here -

http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/for...wboy-Challenge

MTT's -
Played a few different MTT's this week because I wasn't playing cash so I thought I would take a shot at a couple of $1.10 tournaments. I managed to run deep in one of the tournaments which is all new ground for me with my usual early bad beats and bad runs in MTT's :p

Think I had a better strategy in this tourney than I have in the past tightened up early, picked up a few good hands early on for a couple of good double ups, managed to make a good plays pulling off a 4 bet bluff for about 1/3 of my stack.

Managed to keep a stack of around 50bbs for the first 4 hours until I got card dead for the 5th hour every attempt to steal the blinds ended up getting 3 bet most the time and ended up getting blinded down to around 10 bb's, eventually got it in at a coinflip with QJ vs 10s vs 99s and of course no queen or jack but still nice to finally get a deep run in an MTT.

Eventually finished around 30th out of around 3400 players for around $8.50 good score!

Next post should be up on Monday or Tuesday next week cheers for reading people, a d just wanted to add -

Weekly update 4 -

Feels like a good week on the tables simply because I went down so much at the beginning and managed to pretty much make it to even on cash and a good profit in the sit n go's.

Cash Games -

Date............... S Roll..... Hands... Profit/Loss. C Roll

11/05/2012..... $96.98.....1793..........$-13.17........$83.81

12/05/2012.....$83.81.....452..........$+2.88.............$86.69

13/05/2012.....$88.16.....456..........$+3.36.........$90.05

14/05/2012.....$90.05.....289..........$+0.90.........$90.95

15/05/2012.....$90.95.....997..........$+5.97.........$96.92

Total weekly profit/loss - $-0.06

Had a real bad start to the week with my cash game sessions with my biggest losing session of 2012.

Simply, I didn't quit when I should've and made bad moves as I lost more, need to learn from this for next time if I'm ever going to make a solid profit from these games.

Started to pull it back after that though with 3 or 4 solid sessions on the tables, really think I learnt from the losing session in the end and hopefully can change that for next time to quit earlier so that I have less of a losing session meaning I can turn a bigger weekly profit.

One thing I did do after the session was go back through and see what went wrong by looking at the worst losing hands, was painful to see but I learnt from it

Another thing I did was go on pso and look at the advanced tutorial videos, hadn't really looked at them before so thought I'd check them out, turns out their great videos not too basic like I thought they were gonna be and really easy to watch and learn.

Sit n go's

Real good week in the cowboy challenge this week, played another 20 odd sit n go's with numerous deep runs taking my current roll to $17.63.

Always seem to do well in these $0.25 cent games and always seem to turn a good profit every time I set myself a challenge to play them. Looks like I'm going to be moving up a level after then 100 games if I carry on like this and hopefully can take that winning form into the higher games

MTT's

Not had any good runs in MTT's like I had last week but I don't play very many because of the variance, if I do play I'll either play the "$0.10 $50 added" or the "Hot $0.55 turbo $2.5k Gtd"

Like to take my shot every now and again just to mix it up, haven't had any deep runs this week though :/

Another thing I did say I would play at the start of the month is the freerolls, I was hoping to try and qualify for the PSO premier league by making a deep run in the open league but I just can't play enough or I just forget to register :0
Still gonna take a shot at getting there but don't really like my chances.

Managed to actually get a post up on time! Woooo hope your still reading guys cheers if you have

Weekly update 5 -

Been a good week on the tables in general, managed to get back in the positive on the cash game front and made a small profit on the sng's.

Cash game -

Date............... S Roll..... Hands... Profit/Loss. C Roll
16/05/2012..... $96.92.....331..........$+8.51........$105.13

20/05/2012.....$114.58.....346..........$+2.04.......$116.62
21/05/2012.....$116.62......364..........$+3.40......$120.02

Total Profit/Loss for the week - $+23.10

Good start to the cash tables this week with one of my biggest winning sessions so far, feels good considering the biggest losing session that I had last week. Managed to continue that good run through the week for one of the best weeks I've had in the challenge, needed it after my bad session last week

Mainly stuck to zoom this week as it's the easiest way to get a lot of hands in and seems to be better than having 20 tables open which seems to slow my laptop down with table ninja and hm2 open.

Hopefully can keep up this winning streak now so that I can build up enough to move it up to the next level, there's not really a target level for me by the end of the year, I am just looking to use correct bankroll management and hopefully keep increasing my bankroll so that I can move up to levels were I can make a real good sum of money that means a lot to me.

Sit n go -

Had a quiet week on the sng front, was mainly focusing on cash this week because I couldn't really find time with work, did manage to update my forum here though -

http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/for...wboy-Challenge

Had a bad run at first getting a lot of coolers.

One hand I remember is I had 10s all in pre against 8s, and the flop came down giving us both a set leaving him a 1 outer for quads........ Do I need to go on? Haha

Overall still got a winning week and still in love with these $0.25 sit n go's

MTT's -

Again took a shot at a few MTT's this week and once again failed to make the cash. Considering not playing them next week because they're costing me a few dollars each week.

On the positive side of MTT's this week I have had some small cashes on the 100K freerolls which have added up to a few bucks

Might list my MTT results next week to show you guys what I'm doing depending on how many I play.

Overall a great week at the tables, hoping the run will continue into next week

Just to let you guys know i have a separate roll for my sng’s/MTT’s, this is just the cash game roll

Bad start to the week with a $6 losing session, think it could've been worse if I carried on playing, had a few real bad beats but glad I managed to get away.

Frustrating few sessions after that but on the positive they could've been a lot worse, glad I managed to pull some of my losses back with a good winning session and finally not getting so many beats

Nice $6 winning session on the last day of the week to put me in profit

Glad I quit out of the losing session when I did as I feel it could've been a lot worse and real pleased to have pulled out a profit for the week.

Hoping to push on now to get that $200 roll

Sit n go's -

Getting some of the worst bears in these 25 cents lately, think I'm about even for the last 30 odd games which is bad for how I normally do.

Will be updating the forum later today, here's the link -

http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/for...wboy-Challenge

MTT's -

Haven't really played any MTT's this week, did play a couple of small satellites to big tournaments but didn't make it, only lost around $1 in MTT's this week.

Overall I'm pleased with the week, going to look to do more studying next week, look at some sng strategy etc.

Cheers pso'ers!

Pretty good results for your cash games and Cowboy's challenge. Just one third place in the last 30 games of the challenge will put you over the top. There is still a ways to go to reach your cash game goal, but you are definitely heading in the right direction. MTTs usually involve a slow decline in your bankroll occasionally punctuated by big gains. You might consider entering some satellites, perhaps the 2.20 Sunday Storm ones. Unregister from the target event and use your profits to enter micro MTTs. You should be able to beat the Storm satties and this will let you play some MTTs without the drain on your bankroll while you wait for that big cash.

Keep up the good work

Not to sure about that. Ads, I would suggest that you stick to your goals. Straying from them will put your results in a shamble. Remember, playing mtt's takes longer and if your stats are good, you will be ITM about 18 games out of 100 and out of 100 you might hit 2 final table.
I basically removed mtt's from my goals and replaced them with SnG's 9, 18 and 27 man and more cash games

Anyway, there your goals and not ours, so good luck in what you do
Here's the link to my 2012 goals:

http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/for...777-2012-goals

You'll see that my BR is now at over $2,000 just by sticking to my goals

Hi Sand. Good to see you are right on target for your yearly winnings goal. Like many who are grinding up in the micro stakes, ads likes o play the occasional MTT. The per hour winnings are rather anemic. Taking a shot at a huge payday relative to your bankroll once in a while is very tempting. The problem is that usually you don't make a big cash, and you don't make enough small cashes to turn a profit. So when you reach your goals you bankroll is smaller than it would be if you had not played any MTTs at all. By combining enough profitable satties with your MTTs to at least break even, you can increase your bankroll faster and still have the chance of that big payday. So my suggestion is not a replacement for his goals, but a way to get the maximum benefit from reaching his goals if he is going to play some MTTs.

I hope this makes things a little clearer

Total Profit/Loss for the week - $+33.97

Same old roller coaster of a week with the stats in cash game, got to expect that when playing zoom I guess.

Lucky enough this week I managed to pull out a big profit booking 5 wining days of 7, capped off with my biggest ever winning session

Now racing towards my target cash game roll of $200 hopefully can make it by the end of the month so I can have a go at the $0.02/$0.05 stakes.

Even with the variance I'm still liking the zoom games and the hands I am being able to get in every hour. Building up some good points to use for some satellites aswell.

Sit n go's

Completed the cowboy challenge last week and managed to finish with a good profit, you can see how it went here -

http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/for...wboy-Challenge

Not much else happened in the sit n go's just played a few 50/50's might start a new challenge for this month, will update next week.

MTT's

Might use my points tonight to try and satellite into the storm or another big tournament, will let you know how i get on next week.

Overall another good week, hopefully can keep racking up the wins and push the $200 cash roll

Weekly Update 9 –

Internets been down most of the week so haven’t had a chance to play many sessions or hands in but managed to start a new sng challenge and play a couple sessions.

Cash Games –

Date............... S Roll..... Hands... Profit/Loss. C Roll
10/06/2012..... $157.75.....1788..........$-7.26........$150.49

11/06/2012.....$150.49.....1076..........$+5.25........$155.74

14/06/2012.....$155.74.....1120..........$+2.16..........$157.90

15/06/2012.....$157.90.....361..........$+0.53..........$158.43

Total Profit/Loss for the week - $+0.68

Like i said i haven’t had many chances this week to play much cash but i did manage to get a couple of good sized sessions in there.

I’m setting myself a goal each week to play around 10k hands per week, thats 40k a month, hopefully the volume will get me up to the next level and that $200 goal quicker and get me some good points to try and satellite into some different tournaments

Sng’s –

I started a new sit n go challenge this week and i decided because i usually don’t have much time to play the regular sit n go’s so i thought i would try out some 1 table hyper turbo’s and see where it gets me.

I currently have around $40 in my sit n go bankroll so decided to risk just under half of it for this challenge. Starting with $15 (10 buy ins). If i make it to $50 i will stop or obviously if i lose the 10 buy ins.

This is how ive got on so far –

http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/for...d=1#post354272

Tournaments –

Ive stopped really playing multi tournaments like i used to because they end up just losing me money.

i said in last weeks update that i would concentrate on trying to use my points to satellite into the storm, unfortunately i didn’t manage to make it into the storm, played 4 satellites –

70 FPP 10 man 1 entry – 5/10

235FPP 6 man 2 entries – 6/6

$2.20 36 man 6 entries – 10/36

When i get enough points i may try and satellite into this tournament again or might try and satellite into another tournament, if any of you know any good value satellites on stars i would appreciate it if you shared your knowledge :P

Should have a lot more sessions next week and get a lot more hands in, looking to carry on with my new sng challenge and try and build up as many points as possible.

Weekly update 10 -

Going to change my update this week because I've not really been sticking to a good plan lately. Going to start over with some new set goals and stick to them.

Right, so let's start with the cash game goals -

•Reach a $200 cash game roll and move up to $0.02/0.05 stakes.

•Try and minimise my losses and quit at the right time in my losing sessions and try and maximise my winnings in my winning sessions by playing more hands.

•Play at least 10K hands per week.

Now for the sit n go goals, I keep setting myself some sit n go challenges and then never actually finish them, I went bust in the hyper turbo challenge for $15. I did manage to finish the cowboy challeng last month and after 100 games I had an around $17 roll from $6.25, plus the extra $5 from cowboy himself for completing it so here's the goals and challenges I'm going to set myself.

•The Micro Millions is coming up and there are some good satellites available into the events so I am going to set myself a couple of challenges with those.

One of which is the 2fpp satellite into event one which is the $0.11 buy in tournament, I have around 200 points to use so the plans is to play as many games as I can with the points I have earned and see how much I have won  after the games are up. I think I have enough to play around 110 games and I have played 20 so far for 14 cashes which is 70% which makes something like $8.

So that's one challenge, the other is a $0.35 hyper turbo into event two as of where 2 get entry for $1 and 3rd gets a massive $0.04 I am going to take 25 buy ins ($8.75) into it and play 100 games to try and pull out a nice profit

That's the only challenge I'm sticking to at the moment, will get another one set up in the coming months

Now for the MTT goals,  can't really set any challenges for MTT's but I have looked at some goals I can stick too

• I am currently looking to play out my 31 days of 100K freerolls and see how much I can get out of those.

• I always say I'm going to stick at the PSO open league but never actually stick at it, as if the start of next month I will be looking to stick at I and finally make it into the premier league because of the great value in the leaderboards.

• I'm also looking to play as many events as I can in PSO Series of Poker, I like the structure with a lot of players paid for a good spread of points. The main goal is to get the highest place possible on the leaderboard.

Right so now for what's happened this week -

Cash Games -

Haven't really played much cash this week and haven't really gained/lost anything, been concentrating on sng's so will play more next week.

Date............... S Roll..... Hands... Profit/Loss. C Roll
16/06/2012..... $158.43.....2151..........$-8.12........$150.31

17/06/2012.....$150.31.....215..........$+1.15........$151.46

18/06/2012.....$151.46.....1825..........$-1.96..........$149.50

19/06/2012.....$149.50.....1058..........$+2.41..........$151.91

20/06/2012.....$151.91.....2902..........$-1.35..........$150.56

21/06/2012.....$150.56.....330..........$+0.18..........$150.74

22/06/2012.....$150.74.....1613..........$+6.20..........$156.94

Total Profit/Loss for the week - $-1.49

Sng's -

Doing well in the micro millions satellites, making a good run in both challenges. Here is a link to the $0.35 challenge -

http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/for...ns-Satellite-s

MTT's -

Going to stick to my new goal for MTT's which is to play out the PSO Series Of Poker, as of which I managed to make 2nd in event #2 for around $17

The other is to play the PSO's I'm gonna try and stick at it this month and play as many as I can to get in the premier league

I will also be starting up a host of different challenges which I will update in the next post.

Cheers guys!!
