Villain InfringerSet was 20/20 after 25 hands. Not enough hands to get any good reads

Note: 1 hand right before this, he had just won a preflop shove with his AKo vs QQ.

He opens with his standard 4bb raise. When he fired the 2nd barrel on the turn, I think he might have an Ace. I raised him for value as I thought AQ will be the best hand. Top pair strong kicker.

When he shoved, it was really a tough decision. Don't think he had 2 pairs as he won't open with Ax. Could he have a set or a stronger kicker? I took the leap of faith and luckily a Q hit the river.

[SPOILER] He held AKo AGAIN. Can't believe he got dealt AKo twice a row.

Qn: Is this still considered good play?

Hi TheA,

imo you overplayed your hand. Top pair/2nd kicker is not strong enough to be getting all in post flop in a high SPR spot. The reason relates to this:

Your line (check/call flop, check/raise turn) looks super strong, it's optimistic to think we will get called by worse hands taking this line. The only hands we'll get continued action from are better hands. Even if the opponent is fishy enough to stack off AJ here, it's more valuable to let him continue to put money in with weaker aces, pocket pairs, and bluffs, which he won't do vs. this strong a line.

When he shoves over the top of your check-raise, we are never winning vs. a sane opponent, I think they will show us AK or better all the time. Vs. super aggro fishy players we might be ok, but again we'll still do much better just letting them bluff off their chips with many worse hands by taking a passive line, and playing a pot size more appropriate to our hand strength in a high spr spot imo.

Ok thanks. Think I got the habit of committing, getting all the money in, whenever I think I have the best hand. Probably one of my biggest leak
