Hello everyone,

I am starting this new topic for those of us from the US that have not been allowed to play for real money since Black Friday. It is not my intent to downgrade our government. But at the same time our government has stepped in and told us that we as American people do not have enough intelligence to play poker either. Now what I am asking Poker Stars is this: Can you please setup a Poker School for US citizens that allows us to continue our learning process?

I am using a new username now because my account was closed that allowed me to play for real money. I use to go by ( ardodd ). And I just want Poker Stars to understand that just because we are US citizens does not mean that we do not want to continue to learn and grow into a professional poker player.

I would ask that you consider allowing us to play for prizes such as T-shirts, books, and little prizes that will encourage all US players to want to come back have fun. It is very lonely without all my colleges from PSO that I played everyday. Heck I even miss being able to in the Hubbles Final every weekend. But I do miss the opportunity that I won a ticket to play in the Big Tournament the weekend we got canned by our own government.

So if PSO or anyone else has any comments or suggestions on how to get the US players back into the PSO then please Help me keep this topic open for discussion and get it approved

Hi ardodd87,

Even though I'm not US based I can completely understand your frustration.

Unfortunately at this time all we can do is offer US players a learning platform whereby the can improve their game via Live Training sessions, the Forum, Quizzes etc.

We have removed any VPP restrictions to our Poker Videos so US players can view all content on this site, as you can't earn VPP's.

There are some great Home Games where a lot of US players hang out each night for Play Money games. I personally recommend the Drunk Tank, I played there last night and there was a great turn out. (PM Johnny Oak and he will give you the details)

Otherwise as a school our hands are a little tied on this. I will move this thread to PokerStars Support section so that it gets the attention it deserves. PokerStars are the only ones that can make a decision on this.

Apologies that I cannot be of more assistance but I do sincerely hope that you stick around the school here and avail of all that there is to offer.

Here's a little link to a guide to show you around: Welcome to PSO

Hi,

Thanks for your query, but PokerStars is not going to be offering prizes (with real money value) to people located in the United States for the foreseeable future.

If that changes in the future we will do our best to communicate that appropriately.

Sincerely,

Like RR says, there are several Home games leagues, I am a member of some good ones. Most of them are great places to learn and play. The members of the Drunk Tank are outstanding players, and although we don't play for REAL money, we still play for REAL and take our poker seriously. And have fun as well.
