heres my prob here, maksick was either raising, or limping in with any Ax, so for short poker sake, once the flop hit here with the A-8-8, I knew i was probably gunna fold anyways based on his playing any Ax, now he checks, so i checked, based on this fact, now the other 8 comes, so now i have my full house, check check, now the river, then he bets the 275, so as u c i layed it down, and did end up forth.

But based on this read of him what could i have done better?

Sorry, this hand was deleted by its owner

I would have called that river bet, that's me though, im sorry i just cudnt believe him, i would call to get information if anything...

It went check, check, check, etc.. He had Air IMO, going on your read of him, limp, raising every Ax, he wuda bet the flop and turn if he had any of it, he was not trying to trap, i dont think so, IMO..

I think u prob had the best of it.. Who knows though?

Hi AmaturePlayr!

With 55, I'd try to setmine in this situation and call the min-raise (especially if the opp was playing a wider range). When the others fold, it's a bonus that I get to play the rest of the hand in position.

The flop puts a pair on the board with an A, against a player known to play Ax... which is a problem. Due to this, when the opp checks to me, I'm checking behind for pot control.

The flop puts trip 8's on the board. The opp checks again and here is where I'm finding out where I'm at in the hand, as I'm going to make a 1/2 pot value bet. If the opp raises, I'll muck to their larger full house due to having Ax. If the opp calls, I'll try to get to showdown without calling another bet. The opp could also fold if they don't have Ax.
I'd much rather make a bet here and try to take down the pot, because basically any card on the river could beat me, if I'm not beat already. By betting 1/2 pot, instead of having to call a full pot bet on the river (which may be the nuts or a bluff), it costs me 1/2 the chips to get this information, plus gives me a chance to win the hand without a fight.

On the river, with there being two overs on the board to my 55, let alone the trip 8's, I'm not calling a full pot bet here against a player that is known to play any ace. With this read on the opp, there's too much of a chance I'm beat by an A, 10, 8 or overpair.... especially from a preflop raiser.

I'd have bet 1/2 pot on the turn and gotten the info earlier and for less chips then made the according play from there.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.
