Sorry, this hand was deleted by its owner

Looking bad on this hand, reckon it was a bad shove on my part..
was short stack, ITM already, trying to steal n got caught? Unlucky? The preflop raiser was 56/16.

Any comments or ideas please..

AJs is a top 5% hand, with 4.5 effective big blinds you can't afford to fold and wait around for a premium hand. Shoving is the correct option. You should probably also consider it more as a good chance to more than double up rather than a steal since you have little fold equity against the big stack who would be getting better than 2:1 on a call even if the sb and bb didn't come along.

Unless this is a skill league, then I guess you could consider folding, although if you're already ITM I reckon a shove is probably still correct. Having said that, I have little experience in the skill leagues.

Hi wikked76!

If this was a cash tourney, with under 10BB, then I'm looking to shove any decent hand at this point in the tourney. I'm ITM and I want to try to accumulate chips to get to the final table and the larger tourney payouts.

If this was a league game, then the first goal has already been achieved.. to get ITM. Now, I'm in the same type of situation as I would be in a cash tourney... accumulate chips to try to make a FT run. Being short-stacked, suited AJ would work for me and unless the player UTG only min-raised when they had AA or KK, then I'm going to shove here and hope to isolate them.
I don't really have enough chips to make a steal since my stack is small enough that I don't have very much fold equity, so I would expect to be called... and really would want a call from 1 opp, but hopefully not multiple opps.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.
