Here are some new definitions of common poker terms, please feel free to add any you may think of.


A Flop........................Your wife’s definition of your love life now you’ve discovered on line poker.

A Turn.........................What you have when you’ve been playing for 6 hours in a tournie and go out on the bubble.

The River.....................What you consider jumping into when another bankroll disappears.

Implied Odds................The reason you give for making a really bad –EV call. Based on some random fact, or event you noticed once in a hand so long ago you can’t remember. But it worked then!

Reverse implied Odds...The reason it didn’t work this time.

Fish/donk.....................See implied odds

Float...........................Haven’t a clue where I am or what to do so I’ll just call.

Bad beat.....................See reverse implied odds

Blind..........................What you’ll go if you keep looking at those other internet sites you discovered when you mistyped poker on Google.

All-In.........................It’s 4am, I’ve been in this freeroll with 178000 other players for 6 hours now I’m happy with the 10 cents I’ve made.

A FEW MORE DEFINITIONS

Under the Gun................You WILL leave that tourney and go shopping

Middle Position...............Rarely achieved state of playing poker and keeping the family happy.

Hi-Jack.............................The kids nicked the laptop to watch a film

Cut off...............................Bust your Bankroll and can't pay the internet bill

Ante - the lady who shouts at uncle

Limper - a man missing a knee cap

Re raise - more commonly known as Viagra

Small blind - not recommended for big windows

Duece - the confusion of Stewie Griffin
