Additional outs issue ! - Tue Aug 21, 2012, 09:02 AM

Hello guys ,

First thank you for reading my post .
Few months ago I passed through Core Course but I didn't catched it as I should have . Therefore I started re-reading all the courses from the beginning because I want to fully understand every lesson .
Everything is good but I arrived to the Odds & Outs lesson again , and I can't understand some parts of it .
This is the first issue that i've faced with :

If you hit a set with 7(Diamonds ) 7 ( Hearts ) and the board showing 2 7 J ( all spades ) but are worried that your opponent has a flush, there are seven cards that could make you a full house or better (a seven, three remaining twos and three remaining jacks). If you don't hit any of your outs on the turn, then you'll have three additional outs, making a total of ten outs on the river .

My question is : Which are the three additional outs ? I mean if the turn doesn't come from one of my outs , then I get 3 more outs , which are that ?!?!

I'm also having a hard time understanding that simplified odds , but I thought is more wise to be patient and take it step by step , so this way sooner or later I will achieve my goals .

Thank you very much , and I'm looking forward for your answers .

The additional 3 outs on the river are the pairs to the turn card. Ie if a 4c came out on the turn, then the 4d, 4s & 4h will complete your full house. Hope that clears things up

Correct the 3 additional outs are the 3 remaining suits of whatever rank the turn card happens to be. all of which will also give you your full house. Happy studying!

May the tinfoil protect you. MT
