ok so i have some confusion about this topic perhaps my geography is rusty and needs some brushing up, my question is i am currently watching foxwoods world poker finals on the tv and i have also noticed with many other tournaments that are broadcast on the tele, the commentators will often make reference to a player and say he is known as "such and such"(obviously player name goes there, not actually such and such) online, and then they will go on to say he/she lives in florida, illinois etc,so this is confusing to me as i thought these places were in america? can someone please explain this, also if i was for eg. a russian citizen living in america (studying at university etc) would i be excluded from online poker or would i be eligible to play?

Currently nobody with a US IP address can play on PokerStars even if you are just visiting for a day.

Some of these tourneys may also be from before black Friday, poker reruns are very common.
