Hi everyone,
I received today an email signed by Mr. Negreanu in which I was encouraged to post on the forum things which interest me regarding poker. Well I do respect the fact that so may people part of PokerStars as players or as support team members indeed watch me as I play and what I do and in fact we are a big community here where everybody is respected and in fact knows the other person and if I received this email signed by Mr. Negreanu then I decided to write down and tell to everybody what concerns me the most about poker: I want to obtain a job in Australia or Canada at a casino, an online poker room or any place connected with poker and this is what I want to know that what can I do on PokerStars.eu which could attract the attention of such an employer? In other words how can I obtain through my activity on PokerStars.eu a job in Australia or Canada?
The reason is that I want to live in one of these countries and first choice is Australia and my life right now is divided between looking after residency in one of these countries, efforts to be able to play poker and efforts for everyday expenses and other financial plans. I can present my CV to every Australian or Canadian interested to hire me or to collaborate with me and I will prove that I am better than anybody else who applies for the same position.
I know that one day I will obtain residency in Australia or Canada and that with seriousity I will be a successful poker player and what I was thinking of for a while is how to combine these things.
I wait for offers and ideas.
I wish to everyone a very nice day.

Hi adriant777. Welcome to the forum. There is an overview of all the resources available at Poker School Online to help you get the maximum benefit from this site.

You would have a much better chance of getting a job at a casino after you immigrate to Canada. Canada accepts about 250,000 immigrants a year. The rules and procedures have recently been changed, so if you have investigated immigration to Canada previously, yoo should check with a Canadian embassy to see how these changes might affect the possibility of you coming to Canada.

Good luck
Doug

Most of these casinos are hiring all the time.

You could email PokerStars support directly. I know that from time to time they do advertise for staff with a variety of skills.

Thank you for the advice, Doug. My concerns these days are about finding a job in Canada since I can go there with nothing but a passport because I am Hungarian citizen. I am sure that playing constantly well can give me a good image for being hired to a casino, this way I can prove that I am interested in gambling. I plan to go to Canada in a few months, to Toronto, and look for a job and in my CV I will mention that I play as much as I can online at PokerStars and I believe it will help but I could also make a post on this forum and see if at that time you can give me more advice.

Also thanks to all of you who replied. Canada is indeed a great place to live, I lived in Saskatoon, SK for 6 months in 2003.

Hi adriant777. The rules have changed earlier this year, so please check with the embasst to make sure what you are planning is valid. Toronto does not have a casino currently. In Ontario there are casinos in Windsor, Brantford, Niagara Falls,Orillia, Sault Ste Marie, and Gananoque.

Good luck

Hello again,
If you said about the changed situation at the embassy because you might think that is possible that Hungarian citizens may need more now than just a passport to enter Canada then I don't think that there has been a change in this matter, I am Hungarian and Romanian double citizen and I am Hungarian citizen only since 2010 and when I first traveled to Canada and to the USA I was a Romanian citizen only and obtaining my visas was totally stressful because I had to have a very strong financial situation and clean immigration records and had to make a very strong stand at the interview and could never be sure that I get the visa and because all this procedure is stressful it has to take something very negative regarding Hungary in order to ask for visas again.
The post that I made was an impulse given by the invitation from Poker Stars to post on their forums and I posted because I go through finding it hard to work and to play at the same time. Now I think that if I get hired to a casino then I might have to quit playing poker since I am employed in gambling. I can feel a little bit lucky because I do seasonal job, I am a cook and during winter I have no occupation, my salary is over the average during the spring and summer months when I work and now I can have 6 months to play all day poker until March next year and in 6 months I can get very high, since I can't have a bad beat for 6 months continuously, and I would bet that if I put on my account $600 which is first deposit so it gets doubled, play 16 hours per day for 6 months then I make it to 6 stars and at least 2 Sunday Million final tables and then I can buy my own casino...
On the other end if I don't make it then I would still work at a casino so close to the game and then I will see if I can play in the same time than doing something totally different as working in a kitchen.
I am sure, however, that things will turn well for me and success for me in poker will come soon.
Good luck for you and see you later.

Adrian
