Hello guys and girls

My name is Botond,I'm 20,from Transilvania,Romania, but I'm hungarian. I'm in the first year of sports university starting from monday.
I'm a beginner in texas hold'em poker but I already passed the Poker Basics quiz I learned poker with a few friends in school in 10th grade and I registered pokerstars about a year ago when I was playing only a few days for fun. This year I played some cheap 5 RON ( ~ $1,5 ) single table tounaments with a few friends for a couple of days and I totally fell in love with the game. I was the worst player among them, knowing nothing, and they taught me how to play like the good ones I than tried some tournaments at pokerstars, first with freeroll than with a few dolars and I started to love it. I won money on a few tourneys, but I still can't say I'm in +,but I'm enjoying playing with real money because I feel something is at stake, though don't intend to "invest" in poker until I learned the basics and I am able to be among the first players in MTTs.

I will continue with the Cash Game quiz and the others and will try to learn poker

I'm still a beginner but I am starting to feel it
The tight-aggressive strategy helps me a lot,but I change my playing-style sometimes as it is important not to play 100 per cent by the rules

I couldn't post to the old hand-stats topic my hand-stats for my last tournament,so I will post here :

171 hands played and saw flop:
- 1 times out of 20 while in small blind (5%)
- 4 times out of 20 while in big blind (20%)
- 6 times out of 131 in other positions (5%)
- a total of 11 times out of 171 (6%)

Pots won at showdown - 1 out of 2 (50%)
Pots won without showdown - 10

I'm thankful for every feedback

P.S.: I ended up with little money in this tournament because my internet connection stopped

Hi xlr609!

Welcome to the forum. Here is a link that will help you to get familiar with many of the options that PSO has to offer.

The stats for the tourney are a bit on the too tight side for where I try to be at. I try to be closer to 15-25% flops seen (depending on how good of cards I'm getting). The number that looks really low is the other positions, as I want to be playing more hands from the button and CO so that I can play the hand IN position and use that to my advantage.

Good luck at the tables.

You forgot ( I guess ) to insert the link you were talking about or I'm not able to click on it

Thanks for the reply,I will try to loose my strictness a bit and enter more pots, although I wasn't bad this way on the tourney either I will also try to use COs and buttons to my advantage,I see now that I've been too hard to my hands :P

Thank you and good luck to you as well!

Hi xlr609!

Sorry about that, not sure why it didn't take the first time. I've fixed it in my post.
