Hellos,

I've been playing for a couple weeks, and just discovered the Bankroll Builder promotion. I was wondering if I am still eligible.

I've already finished the Basics and the Cash Game tests here on PSO. I haven't made any deposits yet, but once I won $0.50 on an Open League tournament and spent it. I also enjoy PlayMoney SNGs, and made a basic bankroll there.

I'd be glad if you could tell me whether I'm eligible for the bonuses, and how I should proceed.

Thanks!

Hi bogota999,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promo!

The next thing that you will need to do is to attend one of the 'Getting Started With Pokerstars' live training sessions. You'll find these sessions daily in the Live Training section. Please let me know after you have attended this session.

Also, you can be practising on the play money NL ring tables and please post a hand that you were not sure about using the hand replayer. Here is a link to the instructions for the replayer.

Best of luck to you at the tables!

Hi again,

I wanted to let you know I've attended the 3 live training sessions by ChewMe1 tonight. I've also been playing some playmoney ring games as you've suggested.

Here's a hand I wonder if I could have played better.

Sorry, this hand was deleted by its owner

Thanks!

Hi Bogota

I was excited to see your screen name as I plan on visiting Bogota not too long from now. But then in your PSO profile I see it lists Istanbul. Not to worry, in summer of next year I plan on being there as well .

I think your preflop play is very good. This is probably close to the best raise size. Some might argue for larger, some perhaps for smaller. But I think if its not just right, its pretty close.

Once the flop comes I think we have to recognize a few things. First is the multiway nature of the flop. We have three opponents. That is going to mean that when we continuation bet, we are going to get called more often than when we have one opponent. For this reason alone, I would decide to check the flop. It just isn't the flop for us -- four way with no ace, no king, and no draw.

On the turn a draw completes and we repeat our bet size. But the pot is much bigger now. So I would think that if we are going to get him to fold any hand on the turn we would have to bet much bigger. He called 2500 once after all, I don't think he's going to have a problem calling it again .

So instead of bluffing into a brick wall on the turn I think we can check back. Maybe we can it an ace or a king, but the main thing is that he is probably not going to fold the best hand on the turn very often.

Sometimes the flop is just not meant for us

Hey Gareth!

Thanks for your comments, I definitely agree. I usually have a problem with hands like AK, AQ, AJ. If nobody responds to my aggression pre-flop, I tend to feel too committed, even when the flop misses my hand. I'll try to get over it as per your insights.

I can't say much about Bogota, I've only been there briefly as a kid.

But do visit Istanbul, it's a huge city (13+ million people) with lots of historical and cultural sights. And also a great night life! =)

Also, since you're planning to arrive in summer, do consider (if you didn't already) at least several days in a beach town in the southwest. Bodrum, Marmaris, Kusadasi, Cesme are some destinations off the top of my head. You won't regret it.
=)

Hi bogota999

Now we want to get you playing on the real money tables. Next up, and spend some time on this one , study the Poker Basic Course and take the basic assessment quiz at the end of that course.

Once you have passed this quiz your first buy-in will be credited into your account within 24 hours of passing it. Remember you can earn up to a total of $8 with this promotion.

Use this first buy-in to then only play the 1/2 cent fullring real money tables only on PokerStars. Post back here when you pass the quiz, get your first buy-in and start playing these games and we'll continue on from there.

Hi Raiser,

I have already passed the Poker Basics and the Cash Game courses, and it doesn't allow me to do it again.
