Hi all,

I have joined poker stars in the last week, and have been playing Sit n go's, cash games, and a few tourney's. I haven't deposited any money yet, and would like to ask if i qualify for the bankroll builder promo.

I have read through the 'poker basics' and tried to do the quiz, but it wouldnt let me, because i had just done a quiz.

If someone can help me with what to do next in the promo, and to improve my poker game, that would be great.

Thanks

Todd

Hi,

Nice to see that you are familiar with the hand replayer!

You are eligible for the Bank Roll Builder promo!

The next thing that you will need to do is to attend one of the 'Getting Started With Pokerstars' live training sessions. Please let me know after you have attended this session.
Also you will need to complete the Basic Assessment Quiz.

Hi,

Thanks for the 1st buy-in.

I have a question on this hand, and what i should have done. Looking back i probably should have folded after the turn as my hand hadn't improved

Also, what do i have to do now, to complete the 2nd buy in?

Regards,

Todd

Hi,

on a 40bb stack I would raise the standard amount of 3 times the big blind, with 4 players at the table this hand plays well post flop.

By liming in pre-flop with , it's inviting other villains into the pot for a limp and generally a limping range is a weak range..the pot will not be big enough to get the villains to fold their hand(if we are bluffing) as well for when we are value betting to get a marginal range hands to call.

As for bet sizing post flop, anywhere within 1/2 to 3/4 pot is the correct amount for value,
(ex. betting 4c flop, turn and river is pricing in all marginal hands to chase at minimal cost.)

I'm curious to know the reads you have on Villain2?
(ex. where they tight or loose pre/post flop? What range of hands have they shown down?)

The line/story for bluffing would have been a lot more convincing if this line was taken:

1.) Raise 3x pre flop

2.) Continuation bet 1/2 to 3/4 pot

As a cardinal rule, try to avoid bluffing at 2NL (1/2c) and instead focus on position, hand selection, bet sizing>>value betting.

The turn and river you had a made hand just an unfortunate spot to walk into AQ, but it could have been avoided(depending on our reads on villain2)

You will need to take the Cash Game Quiz/Course. Once you have passed it please let me know and your 2nd buy-in to be awarded.

Good luck on the quiz!

Hi,

I cant remmeber exactly what the read was on villian2 as it was a few days ago now. Thank you for your adivce, i think the biggest thing, was that my starting raise wasn't big enough, and then using the read from other hands, made my decision to continue betting or fold.

I have completed the cash game course for the sencond buy in.

How do i earn the last 2 buy in's? Is that with the STT and MTT courses, or does it come from playing in cash games.

Can i use the buy in's to enter tournaments??

Hi,

Well done on the quiz, your 2nd Bank Roll Builder buy-in will be awarded to you within the next 24 hours!

Buy-ins may only be used at the $0.01/$0.02 no limit Texas hold'em tables in order to be eligible to receive additional promotional buy-ins.

Below are 3 ways you can get the remaining 2 buy-ins:

1.)Earn 10 VIP Player Points (VPPs) at PokerStars $0.01/$0.02 FR NLHE tables and we will automatically release your next buy-in.

2.)If you lose your buy-in before earning the required VPPs, you will need to post the key hands from your losing session in your forum thread. Your PSO instructor will review your play and, where necessary, suggest additional training before sending you back to the tables with your next buy-in.

3.) At any point, you can make a deposit and all remaining buy-ins from the promotion will automatically be released.

Best of luck to you at the tables!
