Another confusing spot for me (I'm a beginner!), I'm fairly sure the pre-flop raise is correct, but once he shoves the c-bet, I think I'm getting just better than 1:1 on this call, which, if I'm right, means he has to be bluffing almost half the time for this to be profitable?

So I'm thinking I should have folded, but I still tend to overvalue overpairs. Should I be letting them go more easily to such random aggression?

Hi Jamei,

Your instincts about proceeding with caution holding 1 pair vs. a strong aggressive action are good to be developing, these are spots that newer players lose a lot of money in. So I think you're on the right track.

That being said, in this situation I think getting it in to his raise is fine. He's short stacked and the depth of money is shallow (low stack to pot ratio) and he can be shoving many worse hands like 66-TT, A5, 33, and single big hearts. So on balance yes this is a call.
