What hand is the best to hand in the big blind if a couple of players just call preflop?

Some suited connectors like 87s or 65s? Or rather some decent high card hand like KTo?

AA is always going to be the best hand to have no matter what position you’re in.

In the BB if I had a choice between KTo and 65s, I would take 65s. The reason being is you’re going to be out of position for the rest of the hand, so it's going to be harder for you to get reads on the players. With that being said I want a hand they is easy to play post flop. So 65s your either going to hit the flop hard with a draw or combo draw and you can play them fast/play the odds. Or you hit a pair or miss completely and it's an easy fold to any raises.

With KTo it's going to be much harder to play. Most of the time when you connect with the flop you will hit a pair, but when your raises get called they could easily have a better kicker and you would end up losing a big pot. If however your kicker is good it's unlikely you will get called more than one or two streets, so only winning you a small pot.

Hi Beginner358,

I agree with Kedan87

In this situation you will be out of position post-flop in a multi-way pot. The good news is that no-one raised and you get to see the flop for only the price of the Big Blind.

Suited connectors like the or like you said would offer more chances of flopping an open ended straight draw or a flush draw.

At best and off-suit hand like can offer is flopping a pair of kings with an average kicker or some possibility of a gut-shot straight draw. The problem with catching a piece of the flop like this is that it can get you into trouble.

So to answer your question I would prefer over in this position.
