Had this hand VERY recently.

I didn't have a good read on the villain, as he had only recently joined, although I suspected they were playing moderately tight - they hadn't been playing much.

Normally I don't like slow-playing, but I was out of position and the board was dry when I hit my trips. Was my slow-play correct?

Hi Chris,

I generally bet when I'm expected to bet, and slowplaying spots like this makes our hand strength so obvious later in the hand when we spring to life. Plus we aren't exactly invulnerable to a free card either.

That being said, the villain's stack is pretty short here so if he's got anything to give us action with we can get the money in on the turn and river if the flop is checked through. And given that he actually tried to turn TT into a bluff to make us fold JJ and KK by shoving all in, it worked out for us. Definitely make a note on this player, usually they will not do this with a medium strength hand I'd think they'd just check behind a lot.
