Hi,

You are eligible for the Bank Roll Builder promo!

The next thing that you will need to do is to attend one of the 'Getting Started With Pokerstars' live training sessions.

These sessions can be found daily in the Live Training section.

Please let me know after you have attended this session.

Hello metaiger,

Thank you for that and we can see that you have attended. The next step is to post some hands for review but NOT tournaments hands, remember that the Bankroll Builder promo is for cash game play only.

Next Step

Next up play some Play Money Fullring (9-Handed) tables. Make sure that the tables are full, that is, no empty seats. All Play Money tables will be designated as 'Fun' tables in the PokerStars client.

Here's a short video about how to find the Play Money tables at PokerStars.

Once you encounter a hand that has left you facing a difficult decision or one that cost you a lot of chips save the hand history and post it here using the Hand Replayer.

Here's a short video on how to use the Hand Replayer.

Once you post a hand from one of the Play Money 'Fun' FullRing tables we will analyse it for you and we can continue on from there.

I would normally fold J2 but played it out when I saw a possible straight. This was my first hand on this table.

Hi metaiger!

The first piece of advice that I would recommend, is that when a player sits down at a cash ring game, to wait for the BB. Paying an extra BB over and over to start playing immediately can be a big drain to a player's bankroll.

With J2o, since I've already got 2 chips in from posting, I'll check. There then are two calls, a raise to 20 and 3 calls of the raise. With a really bad hand, I'm going to muck here. Especially when I'm most likely going to be out of position in a hand, I want to be playing only better hands and not a hand with almost no value.

If I was in the hand, when the opp makes a bet on the flop and there are already two callers, I'm going to call here with my open-ended straight draw. When the straight hits on the turn, with sour opps in the hand and two possible flush draws, I'd normally make a pot-sized bet here, but since I don't have that many chips, I'll shove. I don't want to bet less and give an opp with clubs or diamonds the correct odds to try to outdraw me.

One thing that I want to do as a poker player is to make the best decision at the given time and another is to not be results oriented. Just because I lose a hand doesn't mean that I made the best decision and just because I win a hand doesn't mean that I made the best decision.
The best decision here is to muck a really bad hand, J2o, preflop to the raise to 20 chips.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

Next Step

Now we want to get you playing on the real money tables. Next up, and spend some time on this one , study the Poker Basic Course and take the basic assessment quiz at the end of that course.

Once you have passed this quiz, please let us know and your first buy-in will be credited into your account within 24 hours of passing it and notifying us. Remember you can earn up to a total of $8 with this promotion.

Use this first buy-in to then play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables only on PokerStars. Post back here when you get your first buy-in and start playing these games and we'll continue on from there.

Hi metaiger,

You've passed the basics quiz, congrats on that!

Your first buy-in will be credited into your account within 24 hours.

Use this first buy-in to then play ONLY the 1/2 cent full ring real money tables only on PokerStars. Playing any other game format will disqualify you from being able to obtain further buy-ins through this promotion.

Post back here when you get your first buy-in and start playing these games, along with a hand that you had problems, or that cost you money, while playing with this buy-in.

For beginners it's not advised to play short handed tables, so if 2/3 seats become empty it's a good idea to stand up also. As you become better at ranging opponents and playing an aggressive game you will feel more comfortable playing short handed tables but for now try to stick to the full ones.

Good luck!
