Hey Glenn

AKs UTG with 10bb is absolutely a shove, well played The call with 55 is terrible, as you say he is flipping at best, and a 4-1 underdog when he runs into your overpair. Well played, unlucky with the flip but you will have kings next time and crush the underpair

Hey Glenn,

Your play is 100% correct here,IMO. We should never be limping or making a standard raise with 10BB left so this comes down to a simple push or fold question.

The player who's off here is the villain calling off better than 1/2 their stack with 5's.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the reason you're posing this question to begin with is that there were possibly money bubble considerations here?

IF that's the case, don't give it a second thought. Anyone passing a chance to play a hand like this for stacks over possibly min-cashing is never going to be a profitable MTT player.

Well played,better fortune next time.

Hi glenn161274!

I agree with the others here, especially Moxie's comment about the bubble. If I was near the bubble (or right after it too), then I'm much more inclined to shove AKs here, as my fold equity will be much higher. I also expect to be in a race the majority of the time that I'm called here.

While I may be able to fold this and get ITM, the real way to be a profitable player is by making deep runs in tourneys and this is a good example of where I want to try to accumulate chips for a deep run. Yes, I will lose out on a min cash a % of the times, but the times that I win and can make a deeper run in the tourney, I will make back much more than what I lose when I do lose the hand.

If it's me with this decision, it's a snap-shove for me.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

John (JWK24)

P.S. The ONLY way that I would fold here is if it was a satellite and I had enough chips to get a ticket.
