Hi
Welcome to my entry to the 'Time Vault' promotion.
You may red my threads about the difficulty to set the goals. These is final:

  1. Build my bankroll from $70 to $2,5k and never violate the Cardinal Rule.
  2. Spend at least 4 hours per week training.
  3. Look for leaks. I will be using Pokertracker 4 and posting stats and some hands in thread and my blog.
  4. Take regular breaks and spend time with family. No poker at dinner table, even for Sunday Million and final table.
  5. I'm going to earn a minimum of 150VPPs a month, starting from February (PSO Premier League prizes)
  6. Achieve at least 100-th place in PSO Premier League

I hope, that my goals are not to optimistic, but I do usually get a goal.

Good Afternoon,
I was waiting for Life training today and just jumped into freeroll to kill some time without investing or taking to serious.
Played straight forward with no tricks. A thing came up, witch took all of my attention.

Good Evening,
Had a break from online and any poker for 3 days.

Wanted to evaluate my level of play in live against people i don't know at all...

Result - busted just 10 minutes after rebuy-add-on break. In general choose wrong game format in witch had no experience at all and could not fold medium pocket against two pairs 22 33. My opponent had 23s as hole cards and called raise. Of coarse he raised after flop. Could not resist to raise all-in ~20BB.

You may look on the result here:

Kind a not so great, because of downstream. Lost 10 SNG's w/o any success. After self analysis I discovered, that my hand range and also positions are a one great mess.
Back to classes and down with stakes - 0,5 SNG's are max til bankroll is in better shape. Self discipline is the greatest goal, I have to admit.
About Leagues - achieved somehow Premium League ticket last month. And I have to admit, that I'm not worth of it, at the moment 1263-th. It means again, that I'm to loose-passive instead of tight-aggressive.
I would dream to know about NOTES on PT4, but there is now way I get them for analysis.
Had also some bad-beats, but did not marked them when it happened.
I will give some feedback on Saturday, hopefully it is quiet enough to do it. If I didn't then there is upstream and everything is great?!?

Hey Sandik, your thread is looking a lonely thread so I thought I would pop in to say HI.

I notice you seem to think you are not worthy of a premier league ticket, you won the ticket so you are worthy.

If you feel like you are getting to loose, playing to many hands just take a break.

Have a break between games.

A relaxing calming technique is to go on free chip play.

Blast off some chips to take out the aggression. Then sit there on free play and fold 100 hands in a row.

This will learn you to control tilt or loose play. You will find the discipline because you are then in control.

Then take that new found discipline to the tables.

GL at the tables

Hey Sandik, thanks for posting that thread about how we should go about setting goals - I wound up learning a lot from the discussion and wound up revising mine before they all got 'locked in' to the vault lol.

Just stopping in to wish u luck - hope the variance turns around for you soon!!

I would in real situation RE-RAISE on PRE-FLOP, POT ON FLOP, 75% ON TURN AND 50% ON RIVER. I asked also my opponent what would be his action and he would CALL all the time (who woudnt with straight on FLOP). With my small experience I'm not capable to fold trips, just not yet!
The only thing I could is - loose less chips.

Hey Sandik, hows it going?,

Do not let misguided conceptions bother you. I see this all the time.
I think I know what you are talking about, you say do not mention bet sizing, so the only other thing you may want to discuss is how you both hit so big?,

This happens regular in poker, this is one of many you will experience.
The more games you play in one day, the more times you will see it in any given day.

Also , it works the other way, you too will have the opposite hand to your hand, and you can flop the nuts.

People will explain this as variance. This is the reason we do not shove pre-flop, our small bets of 3x allow variance to flow at a steadier pace.

Imagine a piece of string pulled tight, that is the line of variance in time, variance equals itself out in time. However, variance is infinite, that piece of string will go on for ever.

Now imagine your string, is no longer tight, and as bows in it, below and above, to the level tight lines original line.

- - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - -
-------------------------------------------------------------

- - - - - - - - - -
- - - - -

Now imagine making that string even slacker.

-
- - -
- - - - -
- - - - -
- - - - -
--------------------------------------------------------
- - - -
- - - -
- - - -
- -
-

You can notice an incline and decline increase from the original 1st graph.

Imagine the 1st graph is a small buyin and the second graph to be a bigger buyin structures.

The more you risk , the more the variance, That is why we have BRM and 3x rather than shoving. More variance meaning buyin and bet amount variance.
The smaller you bet, the closer you can come to equaling variance out.
You should only go all in pre -flop if you have no choice.

gl hope this helps with what I think you are asking.

Good Evening,
I've decided to focus weekend poker activities on Sunday. Actually it is correct to call it Sunday poker night, at least it think so.

But like always - "plan is nothing, planning is everything".
Fell asleep after lunch and missed many MTT-s and satellites. Then decided to join PSO league freerolls (Open for Big Bang ticket- missed on 450-th, needed 400-th and Premium for fame at 367-th, no fame). According premier league Standings I'm second from bottom - epic fail, back to school

Started Sunday Million Sat 1,65$+R. Ended 330-th. Did Double re-buy. Lost with following hand. why did I call? Because was to greedy, fail.

Thanks You for reminding about the queen variance.
