Isaac Haxton - What you Need to Know

Isaac Haxton is the one of the newest members of Team Online, and is widely regarded as a heads-up expert. Since his breakthrough performance at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) in 2007, Ike has gone on to amass more than $4,000,000 in live tournament earnings, and is now a regular at some of the biggest poker games around the world.

Just as comfortable grinding the cash game tables as he is the tournament scene, Ike is a formidable opponent and won’t be giving up Saturday Duel tickets in a hurry. Start playing heads-up Sit & Go’s now to practice your game and make sure you’re ready for Haxton’s Happy Hours this March.

Heads-Up with Haxton: Free Strategy Tips

"Until fairly recently, my main game was Heads-Up No Limit cash. About two years ago, I started messing around in Heads-Up Sit & Go’s when I didn’t have any cash game action. They immediately grabbed my interest. The fact that it’s always easy to get a game is great from the standpoint of a professional concerned with playing a high volume.

“In 2012, I made Supernova Elite with the vast majority of my VPPs coming from Heads-Up Sit & Go’s. So far in 2013, I’ve already earned over 300,000 VPPs - almost exclusively from Heads-Up Sit & Go’s - putting me roughly on pace to make Supernova Elite twice over.

“Even more than the fact that they are a great way to play high volume, I’ve fallen in love with Heads-Up Sit & Go’s because they’re just a super fun format for poker. Because Heads-Up No Limit is such a fundamentally different game with 20 big blinds, versus 40 big blinds, versus 75 big blinds, and because stacks are changing constantly, it plays almost like a mixed game.

“With shorter stacks, it is a very math-based game where pre-flop odds and frequencies are king. But it is still important not to underestimate the opportunities for skilful play. Even when you’re as shallow as 15 big blinds, perfect shove or fold play is certainly dominated by subtler approaches.

“With deeper stacks, it more closely resembles the game I’m used to from heads-up cash. The math of the game remains important, of course, but the relative importance of reads, psychology, and feel is increased dramatically.”

Please Note: Only Heads-Up Sit & Go’s that start during the Happy Hours listed above will qualify for increased VPP and FPP rewards. Saturday Duel tickets are non-transferrable and cannot be exchanged for cash. Tickets will be issued within 48 hours of defeating Ike and must used within 60 days.

Hello unnamedone12,

I don't know the answer to your question but I do know that Andre has a special class on this Monday explaining all about this promotion and offering some tips for strategy etc. You'll find it useful if you can make it.

OOOh - Andre v Isaac?

FIGHT!!!

I learnt everything I knew (and have since forgotten) about HU sitngos strategy from Andre's original set of classes - brilliant stuff - now looks like we have another great source of poker education.

If only my brain was bigger I might retain some of this....

Really looking forward to this extra input ..

Ed

This promo does look unclear whether it applies for only $1,5-$7 HU hypers or all of them.

According to this sentence: "Earn 30% more VPPs and FPPs by signing up for Heads-Up Sit & Go’s during Haxton’s Happy Hours from March 4-10.", it should cover all HU sng-s.

Well short but sweet he's gone now.

A $1.50 HU hyper normally offers 0.33 VPPs and during happy hour you get 0.55 VPP.

I played >>3 matches<< unfortunately missed Isaac though.

Try to attend Andre's HU training later it does pay off. Thanks Andre.
