villain stats
VPIP/PFR 28/20
F3B 0

i 3bet the villain with AKo from the BTN and he calls. i miss the flop but i have a gutshot and 2 overs, i didnt cbet though because, i think, this board texture hits his calling range. he could have AQ, AK, KQ, TT-QQ, JT, QJ, QT and continue.
turn is an 8 that, probably, improves his hand, thats why i decide to check back again.
river is another T that doesnt change much, so i check back yet again hoping he has exactly the hand he had and win the pot.
is my thought proccees correct?
should i have bet and if yes in which street(s) and why?

You played it just fine imo. I wouldn't bet flop since typical calling ranges against a 3bet will smack a QTx board pretty hard (QQ,AQ,KQ,JJ,TT) and you can get underpairs to fold later on. That being said you could put out a turnbet after he checks twice signaling that he may be giving up most of the time.
