Hello Asz JaCk11,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!
NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.
Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basics Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.
So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.
He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Cheers.

Hi Asz JaCk11!

The first thing with these hands is that this promotion is ONLY for FULL RING tables. You played a 6-max table. Once you receive your first bonus from this promotion, if you play anything other than FULL RING, then you will make yourself ineligible for any future bonuses in this promotion. The steps that are given need to be followed specifically.

With K4o in the BB, with a bad hand, I'd like to fold, but when it's limped to me, I'll check and see a free flop.

I flop two pair and when the first opp checks to me, I'll make my standard value bet for having 2 opps of 2/3 the size of the pot. Therefore, I'll bet 20.

The turn brings an overcard and since I'm now HU, I'll make one last value bet of 1/2 the size of the pot (35 chips). My plan is that if the opp raises me, I need to fold and if the river is a blank for me, I'll check and hope to get to showdown.

If I'm the opp in this hand, I'd have raised the turn AND bet the river. I also would have raised or foled the hand preflop (mostly fold).
--------------
With A8o in the SB, when it gets limped to me, I'm going to make a standard raise to 3BB+1BB for each limper. With 1 limper, I'll raise to 40. I don't want to call here, as I'll be going into the flop blind with no info about the opp's hands and therefore have no clue whether I'm ahead or behind.

The flop misses me and since I raised preflop, I'm going to make a 2/3 pot (80 chip) bet here as a c-bet as a chance to win the pot. If I get called, I won't put another chip into the pot unless I improve. If I get raised, with absolutely nothing, it's an easy fold for me.

The turn does improve me somewhat, as I now have a nut flush draw. I'm going to check here and hope to see a free river card. Well, that plan didn't work as the opp bets 60. Now I need to see if I should call or not. I need to call 60 into a pot that will be 380 (15.8%). A nut flush draw is 9 outs, BUT with a paired board, all of them may not be good (opp could get a full house). Luckily here, all of the card denominations on the board have the diamonds accounted for, so I do have 9 outs. According to the rule of 2 and 4, each of my outs is worth 2%, so with 9 outs, my hand is worth 18% (I may also have outs to the ace too). Since my hand equity (18%) is more than my pot equity (15.8%), I will call the opp's bet.

I hit the flush on the river and I will lead out with my standard HU value bet of 1/2 pot (190 chips). I want to lead here, as by checking, if the opp is scared of the flush, they'll check behind and I won't have an opportunity to gain more chips from them. If the opp raises my bet of 190, then I'm more than happy to shove and hope that they don't have a full house. Open-shoving the river here is also another very viable option since it may look fishier (like I'm trying to bluff).

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

Excellent!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.
Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game Course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Remember to play ONLY Full Ring (9 seats) 1/2 cent real money tables.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!
