Hello,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Hi,
I have completed the 3 steps, and here is one of my hands:

Since the player before me folded, I made a small bet in attempt to steal the blinds. Both of the blinds called and I got a flush draw on the flop. The small blind made a big bet, and thinking he was bluffing, I called (mistake, I guess, the pot was too small for it to be a profitable call). I didn't hit the flush on the turn, and he made a big bet again, which I again (foolishly) called. No flush on the river. He shows 2 pair.

Hi,

Hand Analysis

For now focus on playing only value hands, AK AQ AJ ATs KQs KJs QJs JTs 88+, as this range will help you to not only make easier decisions post flop...but will prove to be the most profitable for the stake you will about to be playing. Stealing the blinds does have some merit, I'd rather look at it as having the oppurtunity to be playing a pot with a positional advantage post flop...when you have improved your attributes as player only then would I start to incorporate stealing with a wide range of hands. Generally a hand like isn't something we sholud be entering the pot with, we aren't going to be flopping a flush draw all that often and on top of that there are several combos of Jx that have us outkicked.

Post flop, I understand that this is play money...but we did not have the proper pot odds to be calling on the draw with bottom pair. The villains leading range from the small blind is most likely going to be weighted towards top pair or better....considering that they are willing to play an inflated pot out of position versus two opponents. I would have folded on the flop, there are 16 combos of all these hands 82 83 84 85 86 87 89 8T 8J 8Q 8K 8A.. that is quite a few hands that we are behind and let's also factor in 88 33 77 and over pairs.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards,
CannonLee

Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Hi Magik678!

77 can be a good starting hand, but from early position you should fold small pairs like this. I would want 88+ or preferably 1010+ to open under the gun. Moreover, any time you are the first to enter a pot, always do so with a raise, regardless of your cards! Raising gives you several advantages. You may win the hand by getting folds. You limit the number of opponents who call. And you conceal the strength of your hand. If you limp your weak hands and raise your strong ones, better players will take advantage of you. Finally, with a 50bb stack, you don't have a deep enough stack to be set mining from early position.

In this hand for example, the villain who won the hand would probably have folded had you made a standard 3bb raise.

As played, you flop a set on a dangerous board, both straight and flush draws are possible. This is not a good spot to slowplay! Bet now both for value and protection. I would bet closer to pot sized, but at least 70% of the pot.

On the turn, all the draws just got there. You may improve to a full house, but you are probably behind at the moment. Folding would be safest.

I hope this helps!

GL and have fun at the tables!

Fantastic!

Your second Bankroll Builder bonus is on it's way to you, great job so far.

Watch this video that will help you on the cash game tables

There are three ways in which you can earn your next bonus.

1) Earn 10 VPPs AFTER receiving your 2nd bonus and you will automatically be credited with your 3rd bonus. Let us know if you hit that target
2) If you lose your 2nd bonus at the tables please post the hands where you lost the money with here in this thread. As soon as you post the losing hands we will advise on the next step.
3) If you make a first deposit at PokerStars you will automatically be awarded your remaining bonuses from the Bankroll Builder promotion.

Best of luck to you at the tables and we are here to help you should you have any questions.

Hello,

'Earn 10 VPPs AFTER receiving your 2nd bonus and you will automatically be credited with your 3rd bonus'

Remember it's 10 VPPs earned AFTER you got your last buy-in, not 10 VPPs total (any VPPS earned before you got your last buy-in do not count)

If you have earned 10 VPPs AFTER you got your 2nd bonus then your 3rd bonus should be credited to you automatically within 24 hours.

Let me know when you get it and I'll advise on the next step.
