I am looking a bit in to the hyper husng. they seem really cool but also and obviously very high variance.
how does the hourly profits look like compared to the turbos?
are there a big difference between the two of them or are they about the same in terms of profits?
and how bad would you say the swings can get and how large of a sample would give you some sort of a true ROI?

Experience: Played about 40k hypers from 7$-30$ and higher turbos.

I would say variance is largely underestimated. A 5k game sample can get you close to your ROI but a 15k game sample is much better to begin to approach your 'true' EV ROI within 0.5%. The daily swings you will see will be from 15-30 BI usually but they can stack up over the week.

As for turbos vs hypers, I would say that both game variants are equally good/profitable at the low and even medium stakes. However action at hypers is much better higher up.

A good player who is equally good at both deep and shallow stack depths will probably make 1.5- the profit he would at turbos at the same kind of stake because of more games/hour and better action also. However the bankroll requirements and skill requirements at the same limit are much more demanding for hyper turbos.

As for my personal opinion, I think hyper turbos are a more gambly, more 'fun' variant of poker that I enjoy playing more than turbos. However the swings can be both intensely gratifying and absolutely terrifying, so you should consider that before jumping in.

Thanks for the answers, really appreciate it
in which format do you think you would get the most vpp? do you get enough games of hyper to get more vpp's? I would guess that it does but I don't know
