It's impossible to know, because the amount of points will depend on who you're playing against (the "strength of field") and where you finish against it. Putting together a string of top 1400 finishes should add some points to your score. One really good finish (top 100) could give you a big boost, but an early exit will cause a big loss of points.
I'd rather blind out than take a big risk if there are still 3000 players in the tourney. Clinging on for 5 minutes can help you ladder up several hundred places, which is why you'll find nits sitting out or stalling.
Just play your normal game, but don't crash out early, as this will have a bigger downward effect on your leaderboard position than doubling up and making it to a better spot in one particular tourney. It's all about consistency.

I just looked up your stats for this month mike - great record for the dozen or so games you managed to get in so far. Just keep doing what you are doing and fit in as many games as you can before the month closes, if you maintain this record you should have a great chance to pick up a few hundred more points and a PL ticket.

Remember the top 500 with 20VPPs get the ticket, which can be some way below the actual top 500 spots.

Good luck.

field strength == Median Score?
this calculation false? top 1/16 or itm finish?
i don't understand it.

field := size of field
rank := players finishing position
field strength:= average of starting scores of all tournament participants
2ln := Logarithm with the base 2

New score = [old score] + delta + 4 + ([field strength] - [old score]) / 33

Formula for delta:

Top 1/16 finishers:
delta = 40+(1/16-(rank/field))*16*40

Top 25% finishers:
delta = (2ln (field/rank)-2)*20

Bottom 75% finishers:
delta = (2ln (field/rank)-2)*10

For those of you that don't understand German,

Teilnehmer = Participants (usually 10,000)
Punkte = points
Durchschnitt = mean average

A quick question... I found these 2 posts:

http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/art...eague-Strategy
http://www.pokerschoolonline.com/art...coring-Formula

The first one, the strategy with, stipulates that if you reached the 'theoritical' bubble (435th) and your score is average, 1150 contestant, etc, you will receive 30 league points, while directly below the bubble, 436th, gets 18 points. a huge jump.

While the 2nd, the scoring formula, says that finishing ITM will only net you additional 3 points.

Which one is correct? The way I read them, I also felt like the schemes are different in both posts....

Can someone please help me clarify... Thanks!

I'm not seeing that. It says "If you happen to bust out 435th you will lose only 0.03 points"

I'm sorry, I means 145th and 144th, it said that 145th gets 18 points, while 144th gets 37. It also said that afterwards, it went flat and 9th place only gets 40 points.

Of course this is for 1150 field where your scores going to the tournament are average. But still, the scoring looks pretty weird to me.... and looks different compared to the "how scoring works" post.
