Hi frasier!

Is this a std freeroll or a league?

Either way, I'm making the same play preflop. With KK and a limp in front of me, I'm raising to 3BB+1BB for each limper, so I will make it 4BB or 320.

With 2 opps in the hand, I need to size a c-bet at 2/3 pot, so I will bet 720 in a league game.

If this were a standard freeroll, I'm shoving the flop, as I'll play that type of tourney the same as I would a cash tourney. A 720 bet would pot-commit me, so I'll shove.

I then get a min-raise and a large shove. In a league game, with 2 opps, I'm mucking an overpair here (don't care what pair it is either, QQ, KK, AA.. I'm mucking all of them) and saving my 480 chips to last longer in the tourney. If I stay in the hand, I'm in deep trouble and could even be drawing dead, so I need to muck. Hopefully I can use the 480 to last long enough to get to a breakeven league point situation, or if nothing else, lessen the negative total that I'm going to get.

Especially late in a month, I'm not taking any chances early in a league game... if I gotta muck, I gotta muck.

Good luck at the tables.

Raise all in pre with 17bb's and an UTG limper imo. In a freeroll you will get called by worse. I don't like raising less as if an ace flops we get lost, and the smaller raise invites callers (not normally, but in a freeroll yes), so we can end up against 5 players rather than 1 or 2 much more easily.
