There are a bunch of excellent videos in the archive about cash game PLO/PLO8, but nothing touching tournament play.

I don't know if any of the instructors are comfortable with tournament PLO/PLO8, or if there's even any demand for it, but I'd find it really interesting to have a class about adjustments, spots, etc for tournament play. I guess Stars have been pushing Omaha a bit more lately, so hopefully there'd be an audience.

What say you?

Hi butch,

I'm the only trainer that plays PLO, and there hasn't been much demand or opportunity for PLO tournament play. I do have a 2 part video in the archive from when I played live in the PSO The Flame tournament series PLO event... it was a bit frustrating as there was a display problem in the classroom with only the first 2 hole cards showing, so I had to verbally narrate my hand each time for the class... but there was some good PLO discussion and I ended up winning the event.

The Flame PLO Part 1

The Flame PLO Part 2

Hope this helps for a start.

If there were PLO classes I would make an effort to attend too if they were suitable for European audiences.

I've been playing NLHE for over a year now without ever bothering to learn the various other forms of poker. PLO seems the next natural move after NLHE for some reason.

In the meantime I will watch the videos you have posted Dave.

Ah, didn't know The Flame was a tournament. Those videos are certainly interesting, will watch them.
Perhaps you could do another session if there's another PLO home game tournament, or maybe for something like the Micro Millions PLO events (which are ridiculously soft btw, bhoylegend)?.. Hopefully with the holecards bug fixed?
Trying to create some pressure to get a PLO video in 2013.

I did a class for PLO week in late March that was designed as an introduction to PLO for NLHE players, if you didn't catch it live it should be hitting the archive this month, may be helpful in starting that transition.

The holecards bug is fixed afaik.

The next PSO series will have some sort of PLO tourney action, if it coincides with a training time that works I'll look at putting it on the live schedule. If not but I can play, perhaps I can make a replayer session out of it. And if you would like to submit a PLO mtt for a live training review I'm happy to add some content that way as well.
