Hey guys, I'm Wilco and I'm new to this forum.

I've been playing for about a year now, losing about 500 euros. When I look back this is a lot of money, however, it gave me plenty of fun during the hours I played.

When I started of playing I didn't even know the card combinations for NLHE. I just wanted to learn how to play and figured it would be best to play for real money, as it would motivate me to learn more quickly.

I was really bad and somehow my aim was to become SilverStar, back when this was still 750VPP. Well.. I made about 20 VPP per 12$ donation so yeah.. conpletely stupid.

Since a few weeks I decided to take myself more seriously, and actually started reading and investigating stuff regarding SNG, which I like most. For about 50 euros I played as many games as for the 500 euros before, so some improvement there All my major losses this time were due to tilt which made me jump to higher levels for some reason..

Here's my sharkscope graph:

For now I'm visiting DeucesCracked a lot. I'm also using the HM2 trial, and reviewing some hands with SNGWiz.

As you can see I'm still losing, but I improved a lot, and will try to improve a lot more in the future!

For this reason I will try to be active in these forums, and I'll hope for some help of you guys

I hope we can have a good time!

Well Wilco, here's my graph from another site that I'm currently playing:

Strange thing is I've actually trebled my bankroll.

One thing is never worry about VPPs, they are there to reward the poker site, not just you. Start from the bottom up and not the other way. I see you've broke even lately and that's great, work on your game and turn that graph around.

One interesting stat I'll draw your attention to. I've a 13% ROI in 7,000 on Pokerstars but there have been several times where I've failed to cash in 20+ games. Don't be results orientated too much but keep working on your game.

Hi Wilco! I highly recommend you join some of the PSO Live Training sessions sometime, as these allow you to watch live tornaments and also ask questions on strategy.
Hopefully you can turn that graph upside down and start making money soon. Good luck!

Thanks a lot! At the moment I'm watching 'SNG LeakBuster RobinQQQ P1', in which I saw your name popup as well. I registered for the Home Game which will start soon. I think there is a major lack of SNG vids compared to Cash, and I just happen to like SNG a lot more..

Like always when I'm winning, I start degenning way too high SNGs.. I went down 60 but somehow managed to place second in 2 15s and do good in a 7. Now I used responsible gaming to set the limit to $7 buyin..

How do I keep myself for doing stupid stuff.. Any reads/vids?

Other than suggesting you read books by Tommy Angelo and Jared Tendler about the mental side of poker, there's not a lot of advice I can give to a degen.
I've always been a bankroll nit. I go on tilt occasionally and spew a couple of buy-ins with bad play, but I'd never move up the stakes to try recouping my losses. That always struck me as an idiotic thing to do. :/

If you want me to keep shouting "You're an idiot!" I could do that, but that might just make you even more desperate to prove me wrong.

Have you set any goals in the Challenges forum? Sticking to a bankroll management plan that you've posted in public can help with discipline.
