apologies if this is the wrong forum

im going to be grinding mtts and plo zoom in order to get to supernova, hopefully within 3 months

was going super slowly at start of year due to limited bankroll and being backed, basically stuck in micros
but then hit a good score and can now try to get back to where i once was since im on my own roll

if anyone cares ill keep an update of how its going here

currently on 20k/100k vpp for year

Hi,

Have fun during the PLO Supernova grind! It does have great benefits when the status is achieved!

my main thing has always been MTTs, so now i have a good bankroll i will be playing sessions of up to $215, selecting tourneys that have the best prizepools and best final tables (because thats what mtts are all aboot)

and i will also be playing zoom plo - when my bankroll was smaller i used zoom to clear the scoop reload bonus and during that period i experimented at 25 and 50 level and felt i was beating it or at least not spewing it so hard that my bankroll was going uber down

so now i play at 100 and sometimes move up to 200 if the field is soft enough, if there are a load of 4 tabling regs and not many noobs then ill figure its probably not worth playing at that particular time

to give you an idea of the change in situation ive had, i earned approximately 7000 VPPs in the first 5 and a half months of the year
and then in the last WEEK (after binking a scoop) ive earned nearly 14000 VPPs from cash and mtts

100 and 200 zoom are vpp monsters i tell ya

going to vegas at some point in june (still havent finalised dates) so will be aiming to get in the standard 7.5k vpps to maintain platinum and then itll probably be july and august where i put in the serious volume and get to supernova

fun times ahoy

before binking a scoop i was on strict bankroll management for a private stake, playing mainly $11s and below for most of the year

but now im freeeeee so my current mtt schedule starts around 11am ET and includes anything with lots of money up top for not too much investment

weekdays i play mainly 109s and below, mostly turbos but also the good guarantee games (hot, big, anything with a few thousand up top) - NO DEEPSTACKS - deepstacks are for live poker IMO, online poker is all about volume and profit, deepstacks keep you busy on one game for freaking ages and who wants to play 10 hours only to get 11th place? not me!

weekends i allow myself to be a bit more naughty with the spending, so it's anything up to $215/320, but again always looking for the best value. i like to be shooting for at least 4 figures, because it's the BIG scores that youre looking for as an mtt grinder

i wish everyone the best of luck in moving up, because i strongly believe micros are much harder to make a good profit from than the medium-higher stakes. mainly because field sizes are higher and rewards are lower. you need to be playing for a good amount of money, and have a good chance of getting there - i mean i still play some micros now, but i would not like to have to rely on them as a source of income because you need such luck to beat the fields and get anything worthwhile

heres my nova-stats:

june vpps: 2.2k
yearly vpps: 33.8k/100k

should make platinumstar for this month pretty easily, and then its vegas for 4 weeks, and then back to the grind
