Hi Poffalaverv,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!
NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.
Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basics Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.
So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Thank you for posting this hand for review and I have asked one of the Hand Analysers to take a look at it for you.
He will do this within the next 24 hours and once it's been analysed I will advise on the next step.

Cheers

Hi Poffalaverv!

With T7 from the BB, I get 6 limps in front of me. Since my hand is nowhere near strong enough to raise with, I will check and see a free flop.

I flop the nut straight, but there are draws to better straights and due to this, I absolutely need to bet the flop. My flop bet will be based on the pot-size and the number of opps in the hand and with over 4 opps in the hand, I will make a pot-sized bet of 375.

I then get a bet of 750 and a call of this bet. If I call this bet, I will be pot-committed as over 1/3 of my chips will be in the pot and due to this, I will raise and shove here.

I do not want to bet any less than this, as by doing so, I can be giving the opps the correct odds to try to outdraw me... something I want to avoid doing if at all possible. I want to be making bets where I expect to gain chips, not ones where the opps expect to gain chips.
---------------
I notice that this is from a 6-max table. This promotion is ONLY for FULL RING. Playing any type of table other than FULL RING once you receive a bonus in this promotion will make you ineligible for any further bonuses, so please only play the 9 player tables.

With JT from the hijack, when it folds to me, I'm going to make a standard raise to 3BB+1BB for each limper, so I will raise to 30.

I flop a flush and gutshot straight draw and have an opp lead into me for 70 chips. Now, I need to see if calling this bet makes sense. I need to call 70 chips into a pot that will be 290 (24.1%). I have 12 outs (9 from the flush and three other kings) and from the rule of 4 and 2, each of these outs is worth 2% to the turn, so my hand has 24% equity. With this basically being a breakeven play for me, I will call the bet. If the pot equity was more than my hand is worth, then I would need to muck. I also do not want to raise here, as this will increase my pot equity, and doing so means that I will expect to LOSE chips from it as the pot equity will be higher than my hand equity.

The turn gives me a straight, but there is a flush draw and the opp leads into me for 100 chips. Here is where I need to raise and I will raise by 1/2 pot, to 365 chips. A 1/2 pot bet is my standard bet sizing for being against one opp.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.
