Hello Dorrel66,

You are eligible for the Bankroll Builder promotion, good job!

NB: Bookmark this page so that you'll find it easily in the future

First Step

Watch the following video and pay special attention to the tips on retrieving and saving your hand history from PokerStars. This will be important for the rest of your promotional journey.

After wacthing this please play some PLAY MONEY FULL-RING (9-Handed) tables at PokerStars and using the Hand Replayer post a hand here in this thread that you have questions about.

Here is a video on how to use the hand replayer.

Then when you have that done please have a go at the Poker Basic Course and pass the quiz at the end of the course.

So you have 3 steps to do to begin with and when you have all 3 done we will award you with your first bonus.

1) Watch the 'Getting Started' video
2) Post a 'PLAY MONEY' hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer
3) Pass the Poker Basic course.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 steps completed.

Best of Luck!

Hi Dorrel66!

With KJ on the button, I first get an abnormally large raise to 110 (a standard raise is to 3BB+1BB for each limper or 30 chips here). Two more opps call this abnormally large bet. While my hand does have some potential, it's not strong enough to call these bets, so I need to muck this here preflop. If I had AK or KK, I would call, but those are the only hands that involve a K that is strong enough to do so.

If I did see the flop (which I would not), when I see I have trips and an opp now makes an abnormally small bet that is called by 2 more opps (std bet for 4 opps in the pot is a pot-sized bet), I need to make a value raise here and will raise by the size of the pot to 585... BUT.. I don't have that many chips, so I need to shove the flop. I do not want to bet less than this, as I can be giving the opps the correct odds to outdraw me.

The keys here are standard bets post-flop, but the largest key is to muck marginal hands preflop.

Hope this helps and good luck at the tables.

Brilliant!

You've done all 3 tasks and you'll get your first bonus in the next 24 hours, good job!

Step Two

Use your first buy-in to only play the 1/2 cent real money FULL RING tables on PokerStars. Do not play any other type of game other than this. Post one hand that you had difficulty with here in this thread using the hand replayer and we will analyze it for you.

Please watch the following video and answer the question below.

List 3 reasons why a player may want to make a big bet?

Then study the Cash Game course and once your happy have a go at attempting the quiz. Don't rush through the course, there's a lot of content there and the quiz is tricky so spend some time on this.

So you have 3 things to do to earn your next bonus.

1) Play the 1/2 cent Real Money tables and post an interesting hand here in the Forum using the Hand Replayer.
2) Watch the Bet Sizing video and answer the question below it.
3) Study and pass the Cash Game quiz.

Let us know as soon as you have all 3 tasks complete and we will award you with your next buy-in.

Best of Luck!

Step 1: Done
Step 2: a- to put a lot of pressure on opponents
b- to bluff opponents
c- to protect against strong draws
Step3: Done.
The video about bet sizing is amazing, it helped me alot because before watching it when i was hitting monster i was playing slow and get low-mid pots but after hearing the explanations why should i do big bets size well i tryed and it was succesful. Good work indeed, and thank you for the first 2$, Best regards! waiting for next steps.

Hi Dorrel66,

I wanted to award you your 2nd bonus, but unfortunately your Cash Quiz pass isn't showing on our system here. It's possible, but unlikely, that it's a technical issue, so please take the quiz again and let me know when you have the pass.

Hi Dorrel66! I'll take a look at the hand in post #9.

The first thing to point out is that this is a 6-max table, where the play is loose and aggressive. The PSO beginner courses are designed for full ring tables, where a disciplined and patient style is profitable, so please sit on 9-handed tables for the remainder of this promotion. Nevertheless, I'll take a look at this hand.

With JTo UTG, I would just fold, even on a 6-max table. It's too hard to make a profit with this hand when out of position, as it usually just makes a marginal one pair hand. As played, you raise and get three callers, and get a dream of a flop, with the nut straight on Q98. This flop is a great one to go for maximum value on, as it connects with so many hands (straight draws, flush draws). I would basically go pot-pot-shove if the board doesn't get too scary. You led out for 18c into 26c, but I'd go even bigger, betting something like 22c to get maximum value and to try and win someone's whole stack. Two villains call, so the pot is 80c on the turn. The ace on the turn is interesting, because it either helps a villain (perhaps improving him to two pairs) or it scares him (if he just has a queen). I think betting 3/4 of pot is about right. Both villains call again, so the pot is huge. The ace on the river is a kind of a bad card. If a villain turned two pairs, then he just made a full house. That would be a brutal suckout, but you've committed half your stack now, so can't really fold. If a villain just has trips, he's always paying you off. With one villain on just $1.26, you need to put him all in. Going for max value is fine, and the bet of $2 is likely to get at least one call. I'd just be a little worried that the other big stack made a boat. If he raises all in here, you'd have to fold after putting in most of your stack. As played, you go with $2 and both villains fold. A smaller bet might have been a better way of getting value from weaker hands like Qx, and also leave you some room to manouvre if the big stack villain did indeed shove.

Hope this helps! Remember to play on full 9-handed tables in future!
Cheers,
Arty

Hello Dorrel66,

Fantastic!

Your second Bankroll Builder bonus is on it's way to you, great job so far.

Watch this video that will help you on the cash game tables

There are three ways in which you can earn your next bonus.

1) Earn 10 VPPs AFTER receiving your 2nd bonus and you will automatically be credited with your 3rd bonus. Let us know if you hit that target
2) If you lose your 2nd bonus at the tables please post the hands where you lost the money with here in this thread. As soon as you post the losing hands we will advise on the next step.
3) If you make a first deposit at PokerStars you will automatically be awarded your remaining bonuses from the Bankroll Builder promotion.

Best of luck to you at the tables and we are here to help you should you have any questions.
