Hi Dodgy,

In future, please post each hand in a separate thread, partly to prevent confusion, but also because the hand analysis team shares the work around on a thread-by-thread basis.

1. With AK facing a minraise when OOP, I'd sometimes fold (if villain rarely raises), sometimes 4-bet, and sometimes call (my least favoured option, as playing 3-bet pots OOP is a leak. My plan depends on reads.
Here you chose to call. With top two in a 3-bet pot, I think getting committed is right, and check-raising sets up an easy stack-off on the turn. Just be warned that villain will show up with a set sometimes.

2. The pre-flop iso is fine. This flop connects well with the button's limp-calling range. I'd sometimes c-bet half pot as normal, sometimes check-fold or check-call, and only rarely check-raise as a bluff. Once again, it depends on reads. It's hard to say the best line to take, as you didn't provide any stats/notes on villain. The queen on the turn is a good card to barrel, as your actions up to that point are in line with the way you'd play QQ+, but it can be spewy to take this line against a stationy type; a category this limp-caller probably fits into.

3. With 99 on QJJ, I'd usually make a c-bet, actually. You have some showdown value, but checking it down gives villains a free chance to hit an ace, king or straight. You could pick up a draw on the turn, or bet on total blanks, but this board is pretty scary for undercards, so I think leading out has a high rate of success. As played, you're playing the board on the turn and will have almost no chance of getting a random ace to fold, but since both villains have checked two streets, they probably have nothing, so betting is OK.

Bracelet Winner
