Starting this thread to keep and share my progress as I try to grind out a BR that can substain my poker-spells.

I'm not sure yet how I'll format the whole thing, but I'm sure I'll be able to figure something out whilest I'm updating the Blog.

My person

Under construction

Goals

Short term (3 months)
[X] Get some starting cash !
[X] Grind out enough of a bankroll to play $0.50 Turbo 360s with a large buffer

Medium Term (12 months)

Earn enough cash to be able to afford with my winnings :
[X] Tournament Parser ($3/month)
[ ] Upgrade to Poker Tracker 4 (currently using PT3) ($24)
[ ] Sit'n Go Wizzard ($?)

[ ] Grind out enough of a bankroll to play $2.50 Turbo 180s with a large buffer

Long Term

[ ] Get insanely rich

The Plan

Grinding out MTTSNGs using a very strict BRM :

$0 : Freerolls
$0.01- $3.00 : 10cent 360s Turbo's
$3.01 - $15.00 : 25cent 90s
$15.01 - $35.00 : 50cent 90s Turbo
$ 35.01 - $ 60.00 : $1 90s Turbo
$ 60.01 - $ 150 : $1.50 90 KOs
$150 + : 2.5 180s Turbos

I've got a bit of a "headstart" because i only started this blog, after I've made my first +- $15, but in short it came down to this :

+$0.60 from FullTilt Poker "link"
+ $8 from Various stakes at PTP
+ $5 from winnings from SNGs / FPP BronzeStarTournaments (thanks to +-500 FPP from FullTilt)

At this point, I'll still be grinding freerolls, as they're a great "change" from MTTSNGs, and some of them have insane value (soft field, small field, large prizepool). I'll be looking to get as much backing as possible to reduce the risk on my BR (Might even consider a BAP), and I'll start grinding those MTTSNGs !

The Execution

Running BR (USD Equivalent) : $ 115.07

I think it's useful to set short-, medium- and long-term goals, while exercising bankroll management. Good luck with this challenge!

Following post is the summary ofmyfirst session :

All in all I'm quite unhappy about my session, got a few bad beats, missed a few flips, and generally, my survival in some of the tourneys are due to some major suck-outs (at least I suck-out once in a while too !).

Made some horrible descisions here and there, so from here on, it can only go better !

Beginning Bankroll :

$ 9.61
454.28 FPP

USD Equivalent : $16.87

Games played :

Name - Buyin - $ Won

BonusBonusBonus Freeroll - $0.00 - $ 0.00
BankrollMob $25 Freeroll - $0.00 - $ 0.00
BankrollMob $25 Freeroll - $0.00 - $ 0.00
BankrollMob $25 Freeroll - $0.00 - $ 0.00
PSO SOP Event 59 - $0.55 - $ 0.00 (+0.26 FPP)
PSO Leauge Qualifier - $1.10 - $ 2.42 (+0.53 FPP)
PSO Open League Freeroll - $0.00 - $ 0.00
10 FPP Bronzestar - $0.00 - $ 0.00 (-10 FPP)
20 FPP Bronzestar - $0.00 - $ 0.00 (-20 FPP)
20 FPP Bronzestar - $0.00 - $ 0.00 (-20 FPP)
Trivia Freeroll - $0.00 - $ 0.00
Trivia Freeroll - $0.00 - $ 0.00
MoreEV Freeroll - $0.00 - $ 0.00
$1.35 Turbo KO (Staked!) - $0.00 - $ 0.00 (+0.53 FPP)
Hubble's Freeroll - $0.00 - $ 0.00
2 * $0.10 360s Turbo - $0.20 - $ 0.00 (+0.10 FPP)
7 * $0.25 90s - $1.75 - $ 0.56 (+0.77 FPP)

ENDING BANKROLL :

$9.24
406.36

USD Equivalent : $ 15.74

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

What I've learned this session :

There was a $0.25 FT where i was second in chipstack, with a /massive/ lead over the 6 remaining players. I should've played more coutiausly against the chipleader, altough I had hime beat when the money got in, it was only a marginal advantage, and lost. More patience, and picking better spots would've probably netted me a Top 3 finish, where the money is at.

Recap Session 3 :

BAH BAH BAH BAH, Soooo MANY suck-outs, sooo UNLUCKY (KK running into AA, Queens losing to Jacks in a PFAI action, missing all my flips...)

These two hands pretty much sum up the session (First is a downright suckout, next one the dude wakes up with an Ace in his hand to my KQ. I was confident i could take him HU in this 90s, because he luckboxed his way to it) :

Recap Session 4 :

Shifted back to a bit more 360s Turbo's, with the usual bad beats / missed flips. Got 1 interesting hand in this session, that'll post for review later.

Started as a chipleader on the FT of one , and busted 4th to AJs<24o PFAI-Action, followed by AKs<K8o PFAI-Action against the same player.
Made it ITM in another one, and failed to win a flip for my life

All in all, marginal profits, mainly due to my taking shots in tourneys where my BR doesn't allow it :

Good session all in all, it was a long grind, with 20 MTTSNGs, a few freerolls, a few attempts to convert FPP to $$$ , and a few PSO SOP Play chip events, with the biggist bump in BR comming from taking down on of the freerolls , and than a few unlocky mincashes in MTTSNGs (one of which was a FT-bubble) , and a few $$$ from the FPP conversion efforts.

Recap Session 12 :

Nice 50% bump in the Bankroll over the beginning of the weekend. A period that was caracterized with a /lot/ of early "opponents hits 2 outer"-busts , a few bubble busts becuase of my " I wanna win, not cash" mentality, and most importantly, a few streaks of run good to place high in some of the tourneys.

Recap Session 13 :

Doubled my bankroll, that's nice. Came very very close to the FT of a $2.2 MTT (4k+ entrants) , busted 15th, when me, 3rd in stack, ran my Kings into Aces from the chipleader. I couldn't find a suckout, and thus busted. The player busting me ended up winning the thing ;-) One can only dream of what would've happened if he held the kings and I the aces...

Still, very good results overall, and one that netted me a few more stakes into MTTs.

I'm in an akward transition-fase from keeping every log manually, and switching to Tournament Parser, and thus don't have data for this session.
I'll just keep recording everthing with TP starting 11th of July. It basicly comes down to this :

1) $T50 Purchasse
2) Some 50c 360s that went horrible for new staker (+ $25 Stakemoney , currently at 19.xx )
3) A few random <1.5$ MTTs

Recap Session 17 :

A whole lot of stakes went on, and god was I glad I could use TP to keep track of all of them, i'd get all messy if i'd try to list all the various stakes recieved/money won, but it breaks down into this :

- Shots at the $1 90s , were i kinda went on a loosing streak (which is, imho, comletly normal int hose high variance MTTSNGs) , had a 50BI stake, lost the first 25, and staker decided to stop the agreement

- Shots at various MTTs -only a few minicashes were achieved, no profit

- A random stake i've won with a PTP competition, it catapulted me into 18mans, that were completely new to me. It was a fun few games, and god was i shocked at how light people stack off in 18mans (you'd expect tighter play !)

All in all, ending BR looks liekthis :

$ 96.36
-------

Now that I'm 100% on my own dime again, it'll be easier to keep a nice overview of my progress for you guys

Accordingto the BRM rules I've set out, I should be plating the $1.5KOs , which I'll do, but I'll mix in the 50c 360s , cuz I like the format, and any <1.5$ tourney i feel is +EV

Recap Sesion 18 :

Tried my luck at a few non-turbo's, made a few $$$ . As I've never really run super deep in non-turbo's, apart from a few MTTs here and there, I'm still not used to being very depp in chips VS Blinds ratio whilst also being deep in the tournament ; still I managed to make the best out of it ^^. All in all, good session, apart from some of the ridiculous cripples i've had to endure early on.

Starting BR :

$ 96.36
