Having had my first casino this week and kept a £1 chip, I was wondering if anyone here collect chips from casino's they've played at?

Pictures would be nice too, if you happen to have any.

Despite a couple of minor hiccups, I had a good time and finished up. Written a more detailed trip report in my PSO blog if you want more detail.

I'm far too cheap to not cash mine in lol. But I have some friends who collected a few chips when they were in Vegas from some of the big landmark casinos. Cool idea really.

Standard MO for me ... dirt cheap by souvenir standards, plus it means I've always got a chip in the game!

I don't collect from casinos, but I have collected a bunch of custom made chips made for home games. There are some pretty amazing chips out there

PS: Im partial to my own customs though

John's right, I do... no idea how many though as they're not formally organized and sort of all over the place here. lol I have a $1 chip from most every casino I've played at, and some commemorative $5 chips. And a $3 mint chip from Aria that I sometimes us as a card protector. lol

I've got most casinos in Vegas from the past 15 years, Laughlin, Mesquite, Reno, LA, Tunica, Atlantic City, Hammond, Elizabeth, Quad Cities, St. Louis, Canterbury Park, Arizona, a few miscellaneous small casino rooms in other parts of the US.

Still never been to Foxwoods, Bay 101, any of the San Diego area rooms... quite a few destinations still on my list for some day.

Took anouther trip to London, stopping by The Hippodrome, Vic & The Casino at the Empire, picking up 50p chips from the last two. Collection's expanding, cheaply and slowly.

havoc - enjoyed reading your blogs on your trips!! That's how I've imagined live play would be ... you flop the nuts, and are still nervous as heck because the money's so big

Nice to hear that you had such a positive first experience, and have gone on to have so many more and that your chip collection's growing.

Just wanted to stop by and drop you this link to a piece at PokerStars Blog from Team Online's innerpsy (Mihail Shalamov) on his chip collection, and the memories his chips bring back of his poker adventures - thought you might enjoy it

Glad you enjoyed them!

Really enjoyed the link. That's how I hope my collection will be one day, but unfortunately, I doubt I'll be topping Innerspy probably ever.
But it does nicely show what I want my collection being like someday. Not just a collection of various denomination chips from various casino's and countries, but a collection of small stories, each unique to a specific day in history, a group of people or a reminder of a good hand that I won on that occasion.
